Ping for later reference. (I applied for mine online in Texas just the other day. Received my packet within a week. Class is on May 24th. Now I’m wondering if I’ll get my actual CHL before the end of the summer.)

You seem to have a clear understanding of what’s around the corner.

What percentage do you think don’t bother with getting a permit?

In SF, he would have gotten extra points for bagging a Texan with a CHL!

>>What percentage do you think don’t bother with getting a permit?”

I guess it depends on the county....Travis co., probably very high percentage.

Point being, There are many that I work and socialize with that are CHL holders. My lil sampling for sure, but the percentile remains.

Heck, even my former and I strongly believe my current pastor carry.

Called my former pastor, My gun totin, hog ridin, preacher man...............Man, I love Texas.

it would seem to be more prudent to buy guns from private parties

Buying from private parties helps keep your ownership out of the government's files, but unfortunately it does nothing to increase the number of guns in the hands of the "militia." Someone has to take the risk of getting on record, if we're to get the "militia" better armed.

I don't know if it will be enough to wake up the Zumbos in this country, but the RKBA people seem to be getting fired up. I hope they can maintain their enthusiam until November 4.

Hmmm, basic mistake here. The license is for 4 years, not 5

That is not correct. Newly issued or renewed licenses are for 5 years.

That’s not bad, just make sure your pant legs are wide enough for an ankle holster.

Helluva a lot more than just 1 in 6 of us own firearms.

Closer to 9 in 10, would be my guess.

"That’s not bad, just make sure your pant legs are wide enough for an ankle holster."

~~~~~~~~
I have never used an ankle holster, because, like Mas Ayoob, I believe that
"Standing on one leg, bending over, or squatting down to draw from an ankle holster is an invitation to getting kicked @$$ over teakettle!"
One of my "American Express" (don't leave home without it") pieces:
I have, on occasion, (in the summer, wearing only shorts and a tee) used a "deep cover belly-band" that I rigged up.
But most of the time, the "Seecamp of the day" rides in
my "extra wallet"...
~~~~~~~~

For a set of overlay photos showing the size of the Seecamps versus other pieces, (including Ruger's new "LCP" below...)

see http://www.seecamp.com/overlays.htm...
