As for the rest, if it were but that simple, which it is not for many medium to large Corporations.
For instance we for one like employing our fellow Americans, and in so doing we are willing to take a hit on the bottom line instead of bailing, but in the end we still have to deal with Uncle Sam as one of the hands reaching out for the income stream...
I look forward to being taxed into recession and higher inflation if that happens. This country continues to grow government at an alarming pace.
Just watching a road crew right now, 35 people on the divider medium. Maybe one or two actually working. Who is paying for that?
And yes, in the end the middle and upper classes are getting it in the rear, either individually or through their business efforts.
Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. There is enough money to be made finding something that operates profitably enough to additionally pay myself rent. Find a good thing and duplicate. Bigger isn’t necessarily better, been there done that (publicly traded co.), and I am no good at corporate politics.

Show us where some citizens are permitted to rob other citizens of their Constitutional rights as the FLDS did to the women and children they abused. Show us where sex slavery is permitted. Show us how the First Amendment gives them the right to break the laws of this country and rape little girls and boys.
Back on topic, what do you suppose the fLDS folks have cost the great state of TX? When I left the welfare office 10 years ago, it was about $600/kid [age 6] per month for medicaid.
I never figured out why states cert them every 6 months and pay for each month [like an insurance premium] and then some of the months go unused.
Interesting revelations on non-profit.
One thing I had a concern about was the effort to release information stating that these folks would be going to the “better” facilities and homes. What about the other children not involved in this operation? Do they go to the not so better homes? How does that affect the needs of children in real detriment considering the caseloads of social workers? See, some of these children weren’t necessarily in imminent danger, debatable of course, but the size and scope of the protective custody order affects many others.
Even in schools across America, the culture and arts programs are cut first. Children coming out of school have no idea how to read music lone enough appreciate it. Painting is something done photoshop.
It’s my understanding that of the 460 who left YFZ that all either are children now [by law] or were children when pregnant or married/abused by their ‘spiritual’ husbands.
I would suppose there would be great caution to avoid homes vs. facilities for the simple fact that it’s public knowledge the children may have been abused and would perhaps, therefore, be easier targets for abuse.
I guess I don’t have to tell you that doctor on the compound is in danger of losing his license.
I know. My husband and I lost our parents within just two years and I’m struck by the lack of graciousness these days. I try to remember that when I’m on the verge of road rage and watching 28 “workers” standing around the road I’m trying to navigate!

Moving from my little S corp to being part of the ownership/management team of a multi-state multimillion dollar operation was a rude awakening to how little I really knew about Corporate operations despite the years of being in business. That's the reason I get a bit miffed when I hear this whole “Corporations don't pay taxes” bit.
While it is true the cost are passed on to some extent, in reality taxes become a factor in pricing and profit more than anything else, basically an operating expense just like any other cost, be it supplies or utilities or whatever. Not all the cost end up being passed on, at least not at a one to one ratio, those days are gone. Either you decide that your margin will be lower to stay competitive in the economy we have now, or you look at options like relocation, but then that entails a whole other set of cost figures to be considered.
