COLORADO CITY, Ariz. As the supper dishes were being cleared away and the rice pudding brought out for dessert, Marvin Wylers two wives, along with some of their children and a group of friends, began poring over the list.
The 44-page document, from a court in Texas, gives a glimpse of who is married to whom in the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or F.L.D.S. and in the hothouse world of religious polygamy, a list like that is a sort of Rosetta Stone to the usually hidden relationships of power, politics and piety.
We are adding up the number of men who may be going to prison, .....

“What goes in AZ and Ut will not wash in Texas.”
Apparently AZ and UT have respect for the Constitution.
Emptied,,,all gone,,,Where ?,,,South of course,,,
Other CULT members will take them in,,,Bet on that...
Oh I know other members will take them in, thats how they operate. Evil begets evil. I read how babies were ripped away from mothers & how children cried. But the bottom line is that DNA had to be taken to even see if the children match the parents. Thats horrible right there.....
Where in the Constitution is the right to rape underage girls granted?
Better start looking for them at ports and airports. They may try to make it to Saudi Arabia.
Actually, under our Constitution, all citizens have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Pursuing happiness does not include crimes against other citizens and that is especially true when they are committed hiding behind the guise of freedom of religion.
If you think that’s in the Constitution, read it again.
If they had, you people would be on here complaining that they were being brought up on trumped up charges. With your kind, it is always the governments fault no matter how evil the perpetrators are.
The same place as the right to kill babies.
You just aren't looking hard enough.
Maybe if I wore my Ron Paul kook glasses I could find it. ;)
Well they might fit in. The Saudi’s might welcome them but then & again they might not. I guess it would depend on what they were offering to get into the country. The Saudi’s wouldn’t be supporting their wives & countless children. Plus the Saudi’s have those big swords they use to behead people with or cut hands off. I think its more likely they will hide as best they can here or in Canada. I just hope they stay out of NJ, we have enough problems.lol
If you were right, it would be the first time I would actually thank the NYT, for I fear Romney as VP as well. That is the last thing conservatives need, him with a shot in ‘12 or ‘16.
Of course in this case the NYT is just reporting facts for a change. And this should not be a problem for the Mittster, I mean after all, despite being started by the same "prophets", the LDS and the FLDS are worlds apart, right?
Oh Saundra, still wrong after all these many months of posting...
And where is your “Romney Rocks” tag line. I have learned much about the LDS “faith”, seems you still have a shot with him, now or in the here after...
Lets hope they rounded 'em up while they were still innocent children.
All of these cults should be busted up the same way.
I fear it too. Why should any conservative want another liberal on the Republican ticket? One just possibly more liberal than McCain.
The flds brought this on themselves.
They knew they were breaking the law.
They were the ones who didn’t keep good birth records.
They were the ones who lied to investigators initially and then lied afterwards.
Their leader is the one who is in jail for rape related charges.
They have no on to blame but themselves for the mess they’re in.
All those who are whining about what the big, bad, mean, evil government is inflicting on those “families” (for lack of a better term) need to remember that it pales in comparison to what the cult did in abusing those children and otherwise destroying their lives and their humanity.
This is long overdo. Those leaders need to rot in jail for the rest of their natural lives and continue to rot after they’re dead.
Ouch.
Well, Elian Gonzalez was really a member of the Cuban branch of the FLDS and we've all seen that picture.
Plus, I heard from a relieable source that the Texas rangers had an atomic bomb in reserve in case the FLDS got out of hand.
Interesting. I read somewhere else a couple of weeks ago, an ex-FLDS member telling a reporter: “Warren has abandoned this community. They don’t know it yet, but he has.” Combined with the fact that about half the British Columbia community has openly split with Jeffs to follow their former bishop, Winston Blackmore (who was officially kicked out of the church by Jeffs), it seems that Jeffs was regarding YFZ as the one true church community, and diverting nearly all his attention and resources (taken from the members of communities!) there. He was reportedly threatening suicide even before the YFZ raid. I rather wish the prison authorities would take him off suicide watch and let him off himself, which I strongly suspect he’d really do at this point.
Oh no, we don't need another martyr to the Joseph Smith cause.
