My Response To The RNC Letter Asking For A Donation
May 7, 2008 | LaserLock

Posted on 05/07/2008 6:47:52 PM PDT by LaserLock

Yesterday, I received a letter from Tim Morgan, the RNC Treasurer, asking for a donation. I was disgusted by the tone of the letter and decided to respond to him.

*************************************************

Dear Mr. Morgan,
I am insulted and offended by your letter. How dare you try to insinuate that I abandoned the Republican Party.

Please understand the facts, it was not me who abandoned the Republican Party, it was the leadership that abandoned the core principles of the Republican Party.

Your letter asks for a donation because you want to stop the Democrats. That’s not a convincing argument.
First let me know what the leadership stands for and then I’ll decide if I want to donate. Also:

I absolutely and completely reject all of your arguments that say we need to put President Ronald Reagan behind us. It was President Reagan who actually believed in our core principles, ran on them, and enacted them.

Help me out here Mr. Morgan. Why should I give the RNC any of my hard earned money, and I don’t have a lot of it.
Please explain to me why there is no one from the Republican Party talking about our core principles.
What do you actually believe in.

Until you can address my questions and concerns you will continue to not hear from me.

If you have the courage and want to contact me, feel free and do so.

All the best,

Okay, have at it.

No disagreement here. The RNC has been calling me daily and I haven't been picking up. (At least they are not disguising as private caller on the caller ID.) I haven't been in the mood to blast at the RNC marketer but at some point I'll pick up and tell 'em to call an Independent or Democrat to get money since they are more interested in them than Conservatives.

>> But you get to keep the Republican membership card as their gift to you...

And the (machine) signed picture of George and Laura was sweet.

She’s a very classy lady, and in spite of W’s many failings, he has quite a few successes too and I believe he’s a pretty decent guy, deep down.

So thanks for the nice picture, RNC. Now go jump in a lake.

They must be getting sick of these letters by now, I sent them this over two months ago and used their postage paid envelope to do it...:-)

“Thank you for your letter asking me if I had abandoned the Republican Party, and enquiring “Have you given up?”.

The answer is and emphatic “NO” on both counts.

Let me answer your second question first, I haven’t given up, I am fighting harder than ever.

I am fighting to stem the flood of Illegal aliens, to secure our borders in the name of national security and sovereignty, to ensure freedom of speech – even during elections, to make the tax cuts permanent, and to debunk the socialist scam of “Man Made Global Warming”.

However, The RNC has chosen a presidential candidate that is AGAINST all those goals, so to paraphrase Ronald Reagan, I haven’t abandoned the Republican Party, the Republican Party has abandoned me”.

So I won’t be sending a red cent to an organization that no longer represents my beliefs nor those of millions of other conservatives nationwide.

The RNC is now irrelevant to me, I suggest you remove me from your mailing list and save yourself some money.

Yours Sincerely,”

Good for you! Just today, I had a similar conversation with RNC Chairman Mike Duncan’s assistant. Like many, I’ve received lots of RNC letters and calls asking for money. Since we lost the Congress in 2006, I’ve not been happy with the R’s so my donations were limited.
Mid March, I get a call for $. I send a check on 3/18. On April 15, I get a letter saying they haven’t received money I pledged. The following week, I get 2 new letters asking for money.

I write RNC Chairman Duncan (sent in white envelope, addressed ‘personal’)explaining I sent money pledged. I questioned whether the RNC has any controls in place and, how exactly are they spending the money donated ...other than to generate more letters. That’s NOT why I send money. Asked if anyone is paying attention???

On April 24, I receive second letter from Chairman Duncan saying they haven’t received money and implied I haven’t lived up to my commitment. That did it...I called Chairman’s office re my tale of woe and I’m transferred to the ‘dept that can help me’. Turns out to be membership.
The guy says he’ll take me off their list.....but, doesn’t get the big picture.

I call the Chairman’s office again and express my annoyance but moreover, frustration with the RNC and Republican Party. And, I’m offended at the implication I haven’t lived up to my commitment. It’s the RNC and Republican Party that haven’t lived up to commitment to stand up to Democrats and fight for what’s good for our country. Woman was pleasant and ‘understood’ and will pass message on to Chairman. I felt much better, NOT.

Today, I returned the Chairman’s April 24th letter with copy of my previous letter and copy of my cancelled check and said REMOVE ME FROM YOUR MAILING AND CALL LISTS. I’m done. No more money from me........and if Obama and Hillary weren’t such disasters waiting to happen, not sure the R would even get my vote...cause he’s not much better than the Dems. The Republican Party needs to wake up.

The RNC cashed my March 18 check on March 24.

‘If you used the return envelope, consider resending it with a hand-addressed letter to the treasurer.’

exactly. the return envelopes with the P.O.Box numbers get opened by ‘mail or fulfillment’ centers.
But, even using plain white envelope, typed and addressed to RNC Chairman doesn’t seem to matter. Woman in Chairman’s Office told me that letters received in his office are referred to other depts and Dept heads give Chairman a monthly report re member concerns etc.

As I suspected....and wrote in my letter.....no one at the RNC is paying attention.

‘I have decided to give all of my campaign money to the NRA’...

I won’t give to the RNC, but, I’ll give to individual candidates...and found the following on another FR thread. May be a good place to look when considering to donate.

website http://www.iraqvetsforcongress.com/ 17 conservative heroes from the Iraq War are running to for 17 House congressional seats this fall, including John Murtha’s seat..

You forgot:

4. I’m only donating to you because it irritates my husband ;’}

I suppose that I should write them a note like LaserLock did - I’ve sent them emails but I know they don’t read them. I will still support individual candidates, but no more money to the RNC.

Re “The RNC is irrelevant to me.”

Best answer to a bunch of incompetent morons.

Never liked them when they were winning because they managed to get people elected who either screwed up success or who had no balls to confront the Left.

Slogan: “No money for incompetents, i.e. RNC”

elpadre says: “as conservatives we must think of which candidate will help or hurt the nation most, or least. Think of the nation first, conservatism second...a half loaf is better than none.”

Saw a good joke today.

Voting for McCain is like trying to find the “clean” end of a terd.

They stopped wasting their postage long ago though, after I started scrawling CLOSE THE BORDERS!! in rude black Sharpie all over their silly little surveys. With no check enclosed.

Ditto here, the only difference being that -- in place of a check -- we unfailingly enclosed one or two of these, as well:

Took 'em eight or nine "postage prepaid" mailings before they finally got the message... but: the typical McCain shill is materially slower than the rest of us, after all. Allowances must be made. ;)

It is curious how feverish self-immolation, as revealed in this post and thread, is viewed as a virtue by some.

To not support the only party that has any chance of continuing to be a countervailing force to the Democrats, the left, and, yes, the radical left, and all these stand for is not a virture.

It is, first of all, rendering oneself a political eunuch.

It is more:

Have you forgotten Supreme Court appointments - like Alito and Roberts??

Have you forgotten the millions of God's children who lives were ended even before they saw the Lord's beautiful Earth - and were ended, even more horribly, at the very moment they were about to view it, as well as view their very own presumed loving mother......

Strut your stuff. But to me you stink. Excuse the non-intellectual terminology - I know how much it means to the chattering classes...and those who have joined them.

I love your response. Mine is usually that I support CONSERVATIVES and send my money direct to them, and want NO AMNESTY. I also do not put a stamp on it.

The R voter who supports the R candidate NO MATTER THEIR ACTUAL LIBERALISM is the eunuch, FRiend. You may choose to be "flexibly principled", but you really should stuff your condescension and projection where the sun doesn't shine.

Being condescended to by a McCain supporter is like listening to a raddled street corner harlot ranting incoherently on the subject of maidenly virtue: you can only stare, wordlessly, and wonder wherever they could possibly find the gall. ;)

For those of you who still think the RNC reads those fundraising letter you send back, I've got news for you:

Those responses go to the funraiser, but not necessarily to the RNC.

And even if the RNC should ever receive your letters;

They don't care what you think unless you are a major contributor, in which case they will tell you what they think you want to hear.

It takes WAY more than an angry note to get their attention.

Did you remember to enclose your check for $20,000?

Please explain to me how the Democrats were able to gain seats in Congress by running as conservatives.

Good question. Too bad they will never answer.

I sent this with their request for a donation a few days ago.

Gang of Fourteen (Kept some of President Bush’s best judges from being presented for a vote)

McCain-Fiengold

McCain-Kennedy

McCain-Lieberman

Total support for global warming scam, including carbon cap and trade system.

Support for embryonic stem cell research

Wants to bail out sub-prime losers (many of which are either illegal aliens or lied on their applications)

Voted against President Bush’s tax cuts (called them tax-cuts for the rich)

Flirted with the idea of crossing over to the democrats in 2004.

I’ve been sending them the Jorge Bush ‘Nada Pesos’ pic with the following note:

I did the same a few weeks ago, with some McCain Nada Pesos, and just send another request with the things I mentioned in the post just above this reply.
