What’s to explain?

How about the original wide margin of victory for Kerry according to...wait for it....the exit polls...that turned into a win for W?

Susan Estrich was drunk on FNC and celebrating Kerry’s impending inauguration based off of the exit polls.

The entire population of DU...all 6,000 of them were on suicide watch when the hard numbers and actual votes began to be tallied.

I can’t seem to find ACTUAL numbers for NC. Does anyone have a link? To the ACTUAL numbers?

Well, when we actually saw the exit polls in Florida, they were super close. But the media will take a minor lead in an exit poll and give it to a Democrat while sitting on a huge lead in an exit poll that shows a Republican ahead.

Did it never occur to you this was the reason they left Georgia as “too close to call” until after 8pm that night? Bush won Georgia by 12 points if I remember correctly, and exit polls had it that much as well, but they waited until right before Florida closed to call it for Bush.

You stated that exit polls were worthless, but you don’t argue that case. You argue that the media relies on them to make the call in close cases. In Florida in 2000 they sure did and it bit them in the butt.

If your exit polls fall into the margin of error, you shouldn’t be using them to call contests.

But exit polls are far from useless as they gather information like demographics and voter issues and intensities. Very useful data for those whose job it is to run campaigns.

Wasn't that fun!

Although it seemed like forever, the almost daily court battles afterward were great entertainment.

I also remember the rest of the world thinking that the Yanks had all lost their minds.

:)
