My husband’s niece told her sisters, and some of us first because he was looking to buy a ring for her and needed advice. The sisters guided him as to what to buy, I went and bought it since they live out of the country, and my sister took it down.
I remember when President & Mrs. Bush first went to the White House. Washington society and the press was upset because they weren’t into holding parties. I’m sure the media is upset that this is a private affair. And you’re right. All they’d do is tear every segment of the wedding apart.
I guess Jenna doesn’t prefer it.
It’s probably more their style to have it at their ranch than have a huge shindig at the White House. Besides, with the economy perceived as being in dire trouble, thanks to the media and the politicians, and the Iraq War, it’s best they try to keep it low key.
“I certainly hope she won’t be the one buying the flowers.”
Nope, that’s Pop, and I bet he’s done the required amount of bellyaching about the cost, as well. It’s a requirement of fathers everywhere to protest when it really is all about giving their precious baby away to “him”.
What? So they could break in with a car chase from California? Or new evidence in the Natalie Holloway case?
She knew he was going to ask, just not when. All the rest of both sides of the family knew though. Things are not so different these days. Boys are going back to the "old" ways.
I wasn’t trying to say that it had to be, or that anyone was ‘wrong’ for not deciding to hold it there. I was merely pointing out my preference, and my condemnation for anyone that would oppose Jena if she wanted to. (not directed at youi)
I do understand your thoughts on the media and the hulabaloo.
And that’s fine with me. I think it’s a shame that a Republican dauther couldn’t get married there because of the threat of disruption.
Does anyone think Chelsea would opt out, if she were able to get married there? Why it would be a state wedding, the thing of princesses and princes, Camelot part deu.
OH MY GOSH! You look like a younger version of her FATHER! Yikes!
We're talking about the cost of anniversary flowers in May. That's li'l Henry's responsibility. Dad is only responsible for the wedding flowers, not anniversary flowers.
Yea, I've been told that some............
The question is, does anyone think that Chelsea will ever get married?
Oh, pardon. Henry only has to come up with a single rose (and the right attitude), and he’ll be fine. Trust me, it’s not the amount you spend, but the twinkle in your eye and the fact that you remembered.
Well... I have no comeback for that one.
“Dad is only responsible for the wedding flowers...”
You obviously didn’t have to pay for the wedding flowers or you wouldn’t say “only”. Doin’ it right costs a fortune. That was almost our biggest expense between the wedding and reception.
when Bill dies.
when Hillary is in the extended care facility.
Till then she’ll just have it all, career, fortune, freedom
Good for Jenna, and congratulations to her. She’s a pretty girl, and seems to have a reasonable head on her shoulders (after a couple of shaky teenage years). God bless them.
... that public bathing-suit changing thing wasn’t too bright, though (I know, pics — but I am afraid you’ll have to search for yourself on this one ... wouldn’t run that search at work if I were you).

It has occurred to them that one day they might get to be in the same boat, having a young swain come and ask THEM for their precious one.
Families can't be ordered like hamburgers; they are the work of years and generations. The "sha-na-na, live for today" philosophy has given us a legacy of sterility and sorrow, and, for my money, it can't end soon enough.
