I told you yesterday about John McCains plans to speak to the National Council of La Raza (The Race) in July. Here are the top 10 reasons he should repudiate the radical open borders, speech-squelching group that he has long embraced:
10. La Raza supports drivers licenses for illegal aliens.
9. La Raza supports in-state tuition discounts for illegal alien students that are not available to law-abiding US citizens and law-abiding legal immigrants.
8. La Raza opposes cooperative immigration enforcement efforts between local, state, and federal authorities.
7. La Raza sponsors militant ethnic nationalist charter schools subsidized by your public tax dollars, including the Aztlan Academy in Tucson, AZ, the Mexicayotl Academy in Nogales, AZ, and Academia Cesar Chavez Charter School in St. Paul, Minn.
6. La Raza gives mainstream cover to a poisonous subset of ideological satellites, led by Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA), which the late GOP Rep. Charlie Norwood rightly characterized as a radical racist group [and] one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues its push to carve a racist nation out of the American West.
5. La Raza opposes a secure fence on the southern border.
4. Former La Raza president Raul Yzaguirre, Hillary Clintons Hispanic outreach advisor said this:
US English is to Hispanics as the Ku Klux Klan is to blacks. He was referring to US English the nations oldest, largest citizens action group dedicated to preserving the unifying role of the English language in the United States.
La Raza also pioneered Orwellian open-borders Newspeak and advised the Mexican government on how to lobby for illegal alien amnesty while avoiding the terms illegal and amnesty.
3. La Raza is currently leading a smear campaign against staunch immigration enforcement leaders and has called for TV and cable TV networks to keep immigration enforcement proponents off the airwavesin addition to pushing for Fairness Doctrine policies to shut up their foes.
2. La Raza has consistently opposed post-9/11 national security measures at every turn.
1. The National Council of La Raza means The National Council of The Race, for Gods sake.
Their signature slogan, chanted at pro-illegal alien rallies from coast to coast, is La raza unida nunca sera vencida.
A united [Hispanic] race will never be defeated.
What possible good will come out of a GOP presidential candidate giving legitimacy and credibility to a sovereignty-undermining, assimilation-rejecting, law-defying group that calls itself The Race?

"I agree that John McCain should not attend any conference of a group called National Council of the Race. In a multiracial society, Rev. Wrights rich white folks, Obamas typical white person, and clingers comments, and the idea of The Race will eventually doom us all. And its time no one gets a pass any more."
Jonathan Martin cluelessly suggests that McCain is trying to show that hes not George W. Bush by going into the lions den and taking hostile, unscripted questions from adversarial groups.
Hostile? Adversarial? Do your homework, MSM.
McCain was honored by The Race in 1999, keynoted The Races 2004 conference, and has championed their agenda for years.
Perhaps, but the naive attitude toward terrorism and foreign affairs is their fatal flaw, which causes me to want to rouse a new party.
I thought material from racist sites was not to be posted on FR.
And if they don’t like the way people (accurately) translate their name, why don’t they just change it to a name that is entirely in English? You know...the language we speak in the United States of America?
There won’t be any new party. The only two choices you have are Republican or Democrat. Choose wisely.
First McCain hired the failed Hewlett Packard CEO, the outsourcing jobs to India and China b!tch Carly Fiorina to his staff (as if she knows anything about business), now I learn he is going to speak to the illegal immigrant supporting La Raza?
Please give me a reason why I should vote in November. I was lukewarm for McCain, but I wish he had a “town hall” meeting in my neck of the woods so I can reem him on Fiorina and La Raza. Oh I am relishing the thought.
It is indeed racist and anti American.
La Raza targeted Bob Dornan by shipping illegals into his district and registering them to vote. Then, a multi-term conservative Republican in a previously Republican district was defeated by liberal Democrat Loretta Sanchez. La Raza is garbage and its members are racist thugs.
Italian is part of my heritage, too, buddy, but we speak English in our home and in front of people, unlike many Hispanics who rudely use it among their Hispanic coworkers in order to have “private” conversations. Maybe Hispanics, perchance, should learn English with more panache if they want to make their home here, like many Immigrants did in the past.
Personally, I can't wait 'till the bad ol' US of A passes on & more closely resembles Mexico. Or Columbia. Or Argentina. Forward!
“We can speak anything we please.”
Yeah, and I can give you any hand gesture I please.
Oh boy, things are gonna be great!
If I visit Mexico, I’ll speak Spanish.
If you’re in the USA, speak English—then I won’t “misunderstand” you.
but Mc Cain is IN FAVOR of all of these talking points...
As usual of late, we have a frustrated lashing out of Conservatives having no Presidential candidate to vote for. Please take the advice of some and look to your state and local elections as they are the “farm” future Presidents and reps come from. If we’re going to be screwed as far as the top office is concerned flip a coin or leave it blank.
I’d write in Justice Roberts or Thomas Sowell if I had the option. The very best people wouldn’t touch the office with the proverbial ten-foot pole...which is why we have to take hold of that pole and beat them with it until they’re taking the Oath of Office.
"At." You meant "lashing out AT conservatives having no Presidential candidate," surely. ;)
Anyhoo... as I've wearily re-re-re-RE-iterated virtually every single day on this site over the past few months, whenever asked (i.e., Damned near Every Single Day):
I fully intend upon voting for conservatives in all the other races, down ticket, and have always planned it thus. I'll be leaving the very tip-top space on the ballot blank, as my sainted grandfather always cautioned me against voting for a liberal, and -- plainly -- that's all that's running, this year; and I'd vastly prefer the late, right honorable old gent didn't rise angrily out of his coffin, November 5th, in order to enact some spectacularly bloody and gruesome manner of posthumous discipline upon me, if it's all the same to everyone else hereabouts.
... or, for that matter: even if it ain't. ;)
“I’ll be leaving the very tip-top space on the ballot blank”
As a fellow Washingtonian, I would kindly ask you to consider using that vote that you are planning on leaving blank and instead vote for the Constitution Party or Libertarian candidates, whichever you lean towards most.
“Maybe more Americans should start learning how to speak Spanish”
You say this but Chuck Baldwin is supposedly anti-American? You really are some piece of work.
For a fellow Washingtonian... what the hell. ;) Sure, okay. I can do that much, no sweat.
Later on that evening, though: can a bunch of us all drive down to Gregoire's place, and lob wet, smelly things at her...? ;)
“Careful. You’ll have all the Team Juan paid shills and apologists squealing ‘white nationalists!’ in no time, with talk like that.”
And how ludicrous that would be since Hernandez is white (of Castillian stock).
“So all the conservative-minded people who think that the current GOP has abandoned the conservative values should pull out and form a new party and call it a... Conservative Party, dah. The time is ripe. Honest Dems are welcome to join.”
I for one will be voting third party. When someone tells me I’m wasting my vote on a third party. I tell them they are wasting there vote on a party that has left behind its core principles. Everyone has said you have to work within the party to change it. Unfortunately I have been hearing that empty rhetoric for the past 20 years and it keeps getting worse.
I hear you. “Spectacularly bloody and gruesome” is what I wish upon the liberal forces that have co-opted the highest office in our land. As we have been forced to a defensive mode I say use this insult as ammunition for a new groundswell of grassroots involvement. The common folk are not happy with the oil companies dictating policy while the administration plods along pleasing viperous allies.
We should be outright dominating the Middle East and dictating the fuel market by now. 4000 plus dead warriors say so.
Hello? I’m not hearing the sounds of domestic drilling, refurbishments of petroleum plants or the bleatings of the Greenies yet. If the Greens had any legitimacy they’d object to the massive damage illegal aliens inflict invading our country through fragile ecosystems. We’d harm the environment far far less if allowed to harvest energy in already identified local resources.
Greeny Liberals are about pushing mankind into a Dark Age where mankind’s progress is reversed for a mythological “Natural Progress” that finds man eventually eliminated. While there is a valid warning in Agent Smith’s declaration that mankind is a virus (The Matrix), we are striving, in the non-political fields, to advance while preserving this planet - ultimately to expand beyond this sphere.
Ahhh, I see you posted the McCain/Kennedy 2008 ticket photo-op..
