Michelle Obama: Black "Separationist"?
Slate / Frontpagemagazine ^ | 5-6-08 | Christopher Hitchens

Posted on 05/06/2008 7:41:18 AM PDT by SJackson

So numbed have I become by the endless replay of the fatuous clerical rantings of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright that it has taken me this long to remember the significant antecedent. In 1995, there appeared a documentary titled Brother Minister about the assassination of Malcolm X. It contained a secretly filmed segment showing Louis Farrakhan shouting at the top of his lungs in the Nation of Islam's temple in Chicago on "Savior's Day" in 1993. Farrakhan, verging on hysteria, demanded to know of the murdered Malcolm X: "If we dealt with him like a nation deals with a traitor, what the hell business is it of yours?" His apparent admission of what had long been suspected—that it was the Black Muslim leadership that ordered Malcolm's slaying—is not understood or remembered (or viewed) as often as it might be.

I invite you to look at the film of Farrakhan's sweating, yelling, paranoid face and to bear in mind that this depraved thug, who boasts of "dealing with" one of black America's moral heroes, is the man praised by Jeremiah Wright and referred to with respect as "Minister Farrakhan" by the senator who hopes to be the next president of the United States.

The whole basis of their church was black liberation theology, which is about as racist was you can get without putting hoods on.

Hmmmmm. Outraged citizenry, "dealing with" preceived traitors on their own...?

That's a precedent you really, truly want do NOT want to establish hereabouts, Louis.

Just sayin', is all. ;)

Interesting who wrote this piece. I never read Hitchens, but based on his interviews, this is not what I would’ve expected from him.

Hitchens is a bright guy. I like his writing, although I disagree with his staunch atheism.

One thing I do know about Michelle Obama: she had to be an affirmative action beneficiary. Her thesis is written at the Jr. High level. Pretty sad.

“about as racist was you can get without putting hoods on.”

Oh, they have hoods all right, except these hoods aren’t to disguise their identity but rather to keep them from seeing reality.

Hitchens is indeed a bright guy, and a rather astute observer.

So I'm surprised that he would be so taken in by Obama's "unifier" act and choose to reject so much overwhelming empirical evidence about the type of guy he really is based on everyone he spends his time associating with.

Hitchens says her thesis can’t be read because it wasn’t written in any known language. That seems strongly to suggest Princeton was heavily engaged in affirmative action back in the ‘80s, and the Mee-Shell’s hospital is similarly engaged even now. Or is the hospital betting on some kind of derived benefit via BHO?

After a short examination of part of her thesis I can say this for certain. It is very doubtful that I could have advanced past the seventh grade in the public school system which I attended in South Carolina in the fifties if I had turned in a paper of such low quality. It is an absolute certainty that I would never have graduated High School in Chesterfield County, South Carolina with such poor writing skills. How someone could turn in such a paper and receive a degree from Princeton is mind-boggling, it goes far beyond affirmative action and ventures into the Godfather realm. Did someone make the Princeton faculty an offer they could not refuse?

Hitchens has appropriated my thesis, advanced on this website some time ago, that Michelle Obama is the proverbial “canary in the coal mine” with respect to her husband. The media need to look at her, not Obama, for the rationale for his failure to leave the so-called “church” presided over by the so-called “Reverend” Wright. She is the clue - she is the reason.

Her salary as a Chicago hospitals “Diversity” facilitator effectively tripled when Barak was elected to the Senate.

I hve never seen so much double/triple/quadruple spacing ....... single paragraph pages that fill 25% of the total page in my life.

I gave up trying to expand pages for reports by using

T

T

c
h
n

q
u

somewhere around the 4th or 5th grade. Pathetic!

From her appearances, she seems to be seething with anger she can barely control, on the verge of an explosion. If he had written something in college more incendiary than Wright's rants, it would disqualify him from being anywhere near the White House. But you're not supposed to point out when a liberal is married to a nutjob. In this case, it applies to BOTH candidates.

There's a pattern: Saul Alinsky, William Ayers, Rev. Wright, Stokely Carmichael. All kooks on the FAR LEFT fringe.

And the mainstream media asks no questions about this?

She should be delirious with laughter considering the rewards that seem to have been heaped upon someone who seems qualified to scrub toilets at best. I would call her dumber than a pack mule but due to my experiences on the farm as a youth I have far too much respect for mules!

For today perhaps, if you were referring to fifty years ago I would say you are being very disrespectful to eighth graders.

MICHELLE OBAMA ping:

I direct your attention to Mrs. Obama's 1985 thesis at Princeton University. Its title (rather limited in scope, given the author and the campus) is "Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community." To describe it as hard to read would be a mistake; the thesis cannot be "read" at all, in the strict sense of the verb. This is because it wasn't written in any known language.

Anyway, at quite an early stage in the text, Michelle Obama announces that she's much influenced by the definition of black "separationism" offered by Stokely Carmichael and Charles Hamilton in their 1967 screed Black Power: The Politics of Liberation in America. I remember poor Stokely Carmichael quite well. After a hideous series of political and personal fiascos, he fled to Africa, renamed himself Kwame Toure after two of West Africa's most repellently failed dictators, and then came briefly back to the United States before electing to die in exile.

I last saw him as the warm-up speaker for Louis Farrakhan in Madison Square Garden in 1985, on the evening when Farrakhan made himself famous by warning Jews, "You can't say 'Never Again' to God, because when he puts you in the ovens, you're there forever." I have the distinct feeling that the Obama campaign can't go on much longer without an answer to the question: "Are we getting two for one?" And don't be giving me any grief about asking this. Black Americans used to think that the Clinton twosome was their best friend, too. This time we should find out before it's too late to ask.

THESIS LINK.

I never thought that I would see a spouse of a presidential candidate who was more of a radical, narcissistic, arrogant, hubristic, self-entitled, and maddening solipsist than Hilary Clinton. To the nation’s dismay, I think we have found her in Michelle Obama. She is the loose cannon Benito Mussolini face of liberal fascism that Barack Hussein Obama is so careful to hide. Barack Obama is more practiced at keeping the mask up. But in the liberal Hyde Park ghetto that she lives in Chicago, attending cocktail parties with her coterie of liberal U of C academics, Black South Side DemonRat pols, public sector sinecures, NGO flacks and liberal Sun Times columnists, EVERBODY she knows thinks and feels this way.
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama’s resentments toward her country and its citizens were undoubtedly nourished by the effect that her set-aside affirmative action appointment to Princeton had on her. It would appear that she was unable to reconcile her black cultural nationalist/separatist philosophy with her tenure at Princeton, a place for which she was wholly unsuited by dint of preparation and talent, if her poorly written senior thesis is any indication. Rather than appreciating the AA slack cut her by the lib profs, she chose to lash out at what she saw as condescension and maybe some pity from them. She felt that she didn’t belong and she probably didn’t, but her racial sensitivity antenna read racism and bigotry rather that contemptuous pity. Her artificially inflated ego couldn’t stand that and she has mutated an enormous shoulder chip ever since.
Now we can only hope that the Barack He who must not be middle named Obama campaign does not muzzle her and deprive the GOP of a priceless asset. Bur from what I hear that is a dangerous proposition for any worker in that campaign. She appears to be as unmanageable and ornery as the Hildabeast.

...is the hospital betting on some kind of derived benefit via BHO?

Already got one:

It appears that Barack Obama, allegedly decent guy and agent of "change" in Washington, requested an earmark in 2006 for $1 million taxpayer dollars for the hospital where his wife works.

Also in 2006, the Chicago Tribune reported that Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she is a vice president for community affairs, jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate, to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office.

Do you know of anyone that has ever gotten a 260% raise? I sure don't.

Now, I know that there are lots of ways to talk about transactions like this involving public officials -- quid pro quo, etc., but I prefer to just say that we're dealing with good, old fashioned, public corruption here.

She's the weak link. She can't wait to uncork that temper and let everyone hear a mouthful, from a life of anger and resentment. Supposedly, of Bill Clinton, she said she wanted to "tear his eyes out." Really??? Just a joke or is that the real Michelle, seething with unresolved resentments from the annoying and pompous, tight-sphinctered class struggle games at Princeton and Harvard?

She wants a national stage to mouth off on. She may get it.
