VITEZ -- Six Bosnia-Herzegovina flags were set on fire in Vitez, a Croatian town in the Muslim-Croat Federation.
The flags were displayed in Vitez for the first time after 13 years, reports said.
The incident took place over the weekend, and local police said several persons took part.
One suspect has been detained, while another "ran to Croatia", the police explained.
The flags were displayed to mark April 28, the day of the municipality.
Vitez endured heavy fighting between the Muslims and Croats. The Bosnian Muslim army was after the explosives plant in Vitez and the Croats were weakening under the constant and heavy attacks by the Muslims in late 1993 to early 1994. They only had a few months more they could hold out when the U.S. brokered peacedeal between the Muslims and Croats was signed in late February 1994.

The fighting in and around Vitez was brutal and Vitez was under siege by the Muslims for almost a year. The ABiH outnumbered the HVO 9-1, but naturally the British forces in the UN and the media painted the HVO as the “aggressors” in the Lasva Valley.
