By: Dick Morris & Eileen McGann
Bill O'Reilly asked Hillary Clinton the key question about the war in Iraq: What happens if we pull out and the Iranians move in?
She talked around the issue, but never gave a convincing answer to O'Reilly's question. She said she would replace force with diplomacy. But, as Frederick the Great said, Diplomacy without force is like music without instruments. If our troops are long gone from Iraq, the Iranians will snub our diplomacy and laugh at our entireties. They will add Iraq to their other trophies in the region: Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza.
Hillary's inability to answer O'Reilly's question reveals a larger flaw in the Democratic arguments as the election approaches. Obama will be the Democratic nominee (take that to the bank). How will the Iraq war play in the race?
On the surface, it would appear to be a disaster for the Republicans. With American deaths now over the 4,000 mark and the seriously wounded at around 15,000, we are sick and tired of this war. It has destroyed George W. Bush and could well do the same to John McCain.

We can certainly hope that it does.
Having now made every imaginable political prognostication, Dick Morris can now retire, secure in the knowledge that one of them is probably right.
Gee, I guess THAT would be a “Military victory in Iraq”!!!
That's the real question.
Like that scene in "Close Encounters" ... where they're on top of the mountain "jamming" with the space craft ... one guy in the CC says, "We're taking over this conversation right .... NOW."
1. It hasn’t “destroyed” Bush.
2. We’ve come too far, with too much evidence suggesting there’s finally progress and thus real hope.
3. Al-qaeda is also “growing tired”, while perhaps still being supplied, is running out of willing splodeydopes IMO.
4. The hypocrats are way too invested in defeat. BUT we’re not being defeated, thanks to our brave troops and Bush staying the course!
5. The American people don’t want to withdraw and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!
And history will ultimately be kind to W!
The only idiots that WANT another Vietnam are the hypocrats, hollyweirdo types, the drive bys and elitist professors.
THankfully, us “bitter clingers” are still willing to see this through!
AND I would think that if the drive-bys would ask a question like:
Should we turn tail and run now when Iraqis are so close to finally being liberated from not only Saddam but other thugs like Al-qaeda?
You know, as opposed to:
Do you want the troops home?
(OK, WHO doesn’t?)
Or: Are you tired of the war?
(Again...WHO isn’t?)
W will be the Truman of this century.
I thought the term was "Ballueydopes." The Left historically has supported, but not discussed population control. The drawing in of American Forces and influence from foreign posts, would work well in that respect. What they don't know is the the Four Horseman would ride freely in this country as well.
No, W will be the Lincoln of the Century.
While we’re at it we can thank Bush for the Open Border, Amnesty, illegal alien entitlements, North American Union, Mexican Trucks, Wonderfully Amazing Border Fence, etc.!
***No, W will be the Lincoln of the Century.***
However, the only thing that makes sense is Operation Chaos.
The key to all those polls that supposedly show America is tired of the war or that Americans want our troops to come home is that those results are obtained by adding those who want defeat with those who want us to come home in victory and who are tired of all this pussy-footing around with the matter. Add pro war to anti war with artfully crafted questions and incomplete explanations and you get what we have been hearing. DM knows all that but he is part of the problem.
No one’s perfect. Winning the war on Islamic terror is enough for me.
