Wherefore, in order that all doubt may be removed regarding a matter of great importance, a matter which pertains to the Church's divine constitution itself, in virtue of my ministry of confirming the brethren (cf. Lk 22:32) I declare that the Church has no authority whatsoever to confer priestly ordination on women and that this judgment is to be definitively held by all the Church's faithful.

"As the spring sun warms the earth and thoughts turn to the leafy renewal of spring, Kilburn Smith is convinced a more inclusive Catholic Church will bloom in the years ahead. "This is a transition time in the Catholic world. We've been a long time in that moist soil," Kilburn Smith says of those advocating for renewal. "But now we are starting to sprout up. There is nothing that lives that does not change."The church of Gaia.

She’s a female, but she’s not a priest. It ain’t possible. Wrong matter.

Mother Teresa moved mountains without ordination. This is all about them.

It’s obvious that Morton has no more idea of what makes one a RC priest than a pig understands calculus.

From your link:
the position of the Catholic Church: "She holds that it is not admissible to ordain women to the priesthood, for very fundamental reasons. These reasons include: the example recorded in the Sacred Scriptures of Christ choosing his Apostles only from among men; the constant practice of the Church, which has imitated Christ in choosing only men; and her living teaching authority which has consistently held that the exclusion of women from the priesthood is in accordance with God's plan for his Church."
What? What?
This is driving me crazy!
The Christians on FR say that God created, and loves, each and every one of us, and yet, at the same time women aren't good enough to lead God's flock?
This sounds more like the Stone Masons club, than the church that Jesus started.

And remember that GOD gave the baby Jesus to a woman to raise.
I guess GOD might be OK with devoted women helping his people.
Just maybe.
I’d put my flame suit on, but since this is a thread of mostly religious people, I shouldn’t need it.

It’s not an issue of fairness. The Church teaches that the Sacred Priesthood is strictly available to men. This teaching does not demean women in any way, rather this particular role in serving God is not available to them. It is not about exclusion, but about the example of Christ, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. Women can still serve the Church and people, just not as priests. This in no way demeans them.
To: NYer
Sorry, Monica, but it’s all an illusion.
One day, you’ll wake up, and find you’ve been had.

But, look at it this way....
Its not an issue of fairness. The Church Mosque teaches that the Sacred Priesthood is strictly available to men. This teaching does not demean women in any way, rather this particular role in serving God is not available to them. It is not about exclusion, but about the example of Christ Mohammed, Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. Women can still serve the Church Mosque and people, just not as priests. This in no way demeans them.

I would imagine that any Biblical Christian would pretty much shrug at this.
Apart from our one Great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16), we don't so much have priests as we are priests (1 Peter 2:9)
