It will. And the Dem candidate will emphasize that GOP stands for Grand OLD Party.
If it is between McCain and Obama it will be between the OLD and the new. Obama has brought in many new (as in young) voters.
The only think that might help McCain is his selection for VP. If he goes with an OLD standard politician, he won't have to worry about writing his inaugural speech.

There is no levelheaded American going to go into the the voting booth on 11/4 and vote for an anti-American racist for POTUS. And remember I said, “levelheaded American” which automatically excludes Lefties and anyone who depends on government handouts.
Obama wins the Primary and loses the General election.
