Maybe Timmy will get tougher later in the interview...(snort)
If Obama is elected, look for Ms Pelosi to become even more of a dictator than she is now. She continues to change House Rules and no one, apparently, is interested instopping her.
Lot os people believe that she is anti-Hillary because she (Pelosi) wants to be Queen Bee.
It usually takes grads about 5 years or so in the real world to start to ‘wake up’, unless they live in Marin County, CA.

Hi TomGuy,
Back in the 90s I was what they called in college, a re-entry student. AKA, not a twentysomething. In one of my classes on the US Civil War, I actually ran into “White Guilt”. The males in our round-table discussion group were agonizing over slavery. Talk about sickening. I finally had enough and looked one kid square in the eye and asked, “Are you responsible for things men and women did over a hundred years ago that you had absolutely no control over?” The kid didn’t have an answer but continued, like a barnyard pig, to wallow in his guilt. My opinion is he felt comfortable there. So maybe you are right. Once these inmature dummies gets out into real life, it might take a few years to turn “Right”.
He just said that his grandfather fought in Patton’s army again.
In his book he says that his grandfather never saw combat.
He’s a goner unless and until he specifically addresses black liberation theology and why he chose that church.
That’s not to say he can do so. Either he embraced the theology of his church or he chose a church simply because of the political cred it gave him, making him disingenuous.
Tim, how ‘bout asking him how often he went to church.
Did he ever discuss black liberation theology with Wright OR OTHER CHURCH MEMBERS.
Was he just completely clueless as to what his chosen church stood for?
(Funny how they always found time to ask Mitt about those things)
And, of course, the most important question:
Have you talked to Oprah lately?
Thanks Lacey, maybe it will be good TV this morning.
Hey big guy,
For the record, we miss your wonderful insights and comments here on the Sunday thread!
hoep to see you back someday!
All: Off topic, but if you want to add your comments to this, feel free! I meant to add this to the top of the thread, but a kid problem at Fotress Babylon distracted my posting.
When I watched Wright at the National Press Club, I didn't ‘bat’ an eye. I have lost count of the number of people who have told me what Wright mentioned. In fact I wrote down the books he suggested to read, and researched them.
I'm in the middle of a book series about the Marine Corps in WWII, Wright would have fit right in as a character! :-)

Is a person who works in a marina, a marine?
I see the GOP is being represented by a failed computer exec...

That choice just adds to the positive feelings about McCain’s campaign, doesn’t it!!!! She was probably recommended by the chairman of It’s My Party Too (”moderate” Republican): Christie Whitman.

Does Obama pull his [White] grandparents out from under the bus for political expediency?
Talking about patriotism question, he references his ‘grandfather fighting in the war and his grandmother’s deeds’.
[He doesn’t specify, but I assume, it was the White grandparents rather than the Black ones. He also talks about the values instilled in him — again, wasn’t that via his White grandparents?]
WOW, Obama is slick....he’s the underdog compared to the Clinton machine....Michelle’s dad is like Tim’s dad. Dad’s like theirs can’t make it anymore without the government fixing things for them.
Morning, AB....All....
...tomorrow is a big day for me. This past week was unbelievable.
Been having chest pains. Weird. As I thought. I am a middle-aged (58) female, generally healthy, only been to docs once in past five years, active, a little chubby but who isn’t?
I garden, exercise every day, sing in church choir, work with local pubbies....in summary, fairly happy, healthy, engaged.
The chest pains got worse. I refused to believe that one such as I had heart issues. It was not in my agenda.
Still I started a protocol to check it out with a Cardiologist. I have good health insurance and so I had an echocardiogram, wore a Holter monitor for a day, had blood work....the whole bit. Nothing much was found.
Until the day of the stress test. For on the day of the stress test....I almost died.
The folks at the cardiologist’s administered an antidote to the heart-speeding medicine they had given me and I had to go to the hospital.
Obviously I lived.
But I have a blockage in my heart so severe that, well tomorrow I will be having a triple, coronary bypass.
Here’s the deal. My husband works for an employer that supplies health insurance as a benefit. The docs and hospital are only too eager to have me as a patient. I am young, will have “twenty to thirty” more years per the doc who did my angioplasty. Thus I will likely be using medical services for a long time in the future, assuming all goes well with this bypass. My coronary arteries were too clogged for a stent. Dick Cheney has a bunch of stents in his heart. I guess my heart is in worst shape than Dick Cheneys.
The hospital and medicos have been great but they only like me for my happening health insurance. Which is fine. Because it’s all about capitalism, folks.
Which is fine. Just fine. Make money making me well and my insurance, paid for through my husband’s employment and by his own bi-weekly deduction, will pay you. Hey, they already have pre-certification for my heart surgery. Cool.
A coronary bypass is almost as routine as a tonsillectomy used to be, ladies and gems. I am amazed. I have been, and will continue to be, amazed and delighted by the great medical care we have in this country.
Y’all have to know that my mind is spinning with this experience. I’ve got thoughts about American medical care, prescription drugs which have let me walk free the weekend before my major surgery, the care and technology of a modern American hospital.
I’ve got thoughts on middle-aged women who think their heart can’t possibly be malfunctioning because, dammit, I have too much to do.
I’ve got thoughts on how much I wouldn’t want this hospital run by my government as it’s a much better system what with everyone involved seeking a profit for a legitimate service. Which would be fixing my heart, specifically.
If of a mind, spare me a prayer. If all goes well I shall be back here next week, a little sore maybe. They’re taking veins out of my legs, by the way, and putting them in my heart. They will be removing my heart during the operation, shutting it down and a machine shall breathe and do my living chores while surgeons fix me up a happening little blood exchange to my hurting coronary arteries.
Folks, this amazes me. the last time I was at a doctor I had a cold. This was four years ago. The time before this was about ten years prior. I don’t like the doctors and avoid them. Now I need them.
So yeah, I have thoughts on the matter.
My first thought....God Bless America. Because in this country we have the best medical care on the planet. Don’t tell me not.
That’s my first thought. I’ve been paying attention to the politics and will continue to do so today.
God Bless America.
Would a Pakistani Muslim woman be getting the excellent care that I am? I don’t know the answer but believe me, I don’t want to find out.
Why do you think they are both out of jail now. It's all manipulation.
They talk a semi- straight game to get in office and then use the law to get what you want done once in power.the idea is to form a socialist agenda incrementally.
It's all done very slyly and slickly.
Just another reason why Supreme and other court judges are so all important.
With the right judges in place the socialists can get their agenda done and there is little we can do about it. This is an issue Mark Levin rants on about often and for good reason.
You got it! Best wishes for an easy and successful surgery and a quick recovery!
