Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton warned today it was time to "blow the whistle" on China, accusing it of unfair trade practices.
She stood close to a parade of closed shops and pawnbrokers in North Carolina as she vowed to turn the US economy around, despite fears of recession, and promised action to reverse a tide of industrial jobs moving abroad.
"We do have to get tough on China, it is long past time for us to blow the whistle," the New York senator said, in the latest of a string of campaign assaults on Beijing.
"This country manipulates its currency to our disadvantage, they engage in broad-based intellectual property theft, industrial espionage, they do not follow the rules they agreed to follow when they joined the WTO," she said.
"What do we get in return from them? Well, we get tainted pet food, we get lead-laced toys, we get polluted pharmaceuticals."
"If you want to be our partner, you've got to play by the same rules," Clinton said, three days before North Carolina's crucial primary, one of the key end-game votes in the Democratic nominating contest.
The American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition says North Carolina, in the eastern United States, has lost 211,000 manufacturing jobs since 2001.

What chutzpah! It was the Clinton Administration that sold China the technology to move forward with its developments!
Duncan Hunter, is that you?
She’s lying, of course. Hillary Clinton is the Queen of free traitors—their most desired puppet to finish the stupid class war here.
Well the good news is that they armed to the teeth thanks to her and her husband because they like cash more than America.
Thank you! Made my point.
How ‘bout somebody ‘blow the wistle’ on the Clinton dealings with China?
Beijing's latest payment of tribute must be overdue. Best they pay up soon lest they get whacked.
Sure, Hillary, we believe you.

Able Danger. Not dead, just resting.....
Tough?
What did Bill and Hillary do? Make the cost of one of our national defense secrets too high so the Chi-Coms got all but one of them?
Correct, Old Phone Guy!
It was Loral Space Systems based in Mountain View, CA. However, while Bill Clinton sold us out to the Little Red Devils, Bush continued the practice and did not end Loral’s contribution to that end. Bush continued to sell our technology to Red China. Let’s give credit where credit’s due!
Hey gang, check this out! She’s stealing Hunter’s platform!
That’s a tough one to swallow!
“Bush continued the practice and did not end Lorals contribution to that end. Bush continued to sell our technology to Red China. Lets give credit where credits due!”
It’s been a long time since any president was tough on the Chinese. Certainly no one named Bush ever was. GHWB must have developed a special fondness for them after his stint as Ambassador to China. And he dispatched Scrowcroft to reassure them that nothing would really change after the unpleasantness at Tiananmen Square in 1989.
Only time will tell how wise our suck-up policies toward Red China have been.
She been reading Duncan Hunter’s campaign page?
I am just gong through the older articles, and I looked at the source twice before reading the entire article. Your reply made me go BACK and look again, since I had three browsers open. I thought the very same thing - either John Semmons, Scrappleface or the Daily Redundancy.
