BAGHDAD Iraqi citizens, who witnessed a vehicle borne improvised explosive device that killed one Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldier, turned over a criminal to the Iraqi National Police, May 1.
The citizens observed a man parking a vehicle and walking a significant distance away from it. They saw the man using a cell phone before the detonation. After the blast, Iraqi citizens chased the criminal and made a citizens arrest. The criminal was turned over to the Iraqi National Police, where he tested positive for explosive compounds.
Two other criminals were also apprehended after they were observed and identified watching the area when the blast occurred. They also tested positive for explosives.
An American Soldier paid the ultimate price on behalf of his country, his family and the citizens of Iraq, said Col. Allen Batschelet, the chief of staff for MND-B and the 4th Infantry Division. We will not relent in our efforts to rid Baghdad of these criminal elements, and today, as many times before, we were aided in that struggle by the people of Iraq.
The citizens of Iraq have repeatedly shown their displeasure for these criminals operating in their neighborhoods and are continuing to assist American forces to rid these criminals off the streets in Baghdad, Batschelet said.
Meanwhile at the American inner city war the “Don’t snitch” rule is still the order of the day.
And they call Iraq a quagmire.
Deafening silence from the MSM
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!
Great, great post. THIS IS HUGE NEWS!!!!
Even more excellent news that will never make it through the MSM, thanks for the post!
Big f’ing deal. These retards sat on the sidelines for years knowing soldiers would be blown up. After 1000 incident they get good press for intervening in 1.
GREAT NEWS Sandrat!!
The use of the word “criminal” (vs. terrorist) is interesting. It sort of seems to me like it means the Iraqi people are taking ownership of the problem — like these are people that THEY need to deal with. I LOVE IT!!!
“It only takes a spark
To get a fire going
And soon all those around
will warm up in it’s glowing...”
One baby step at a time - you didn’t learn to run the day after you were born. Give these people a break. This shows that they are confident that the people in charge are going to handle the problem. It’s a good step!!
Too bad the predator didn’t get there first!
Don’t be too harsh on them.
In the past, if you lived in some areas, being seen to take part on the allies side could get you 12”x12” box on your doorstep with your eight year old son’s severed head inside.
If they helped us, there was no degree of assurance that would not happen. This is a good thing because it means the rule of law is taking hold in some areas.
Excellent! (Although, I would rather read about Iraqi citizens hacking these criminals' heads off.)
Yes, that is a good analysis. The word “criminals” was the first thing I noticed as well.
AWESOME!
It’s good that they got them alive. Perhaps the Iraqui interrogation methods will produce some bigger fish.
I suspect the perp would prefer to be waterboarded and have undies put on his head to what awaits him before they finally kill him.
Interesting how the Islamoscum have morphed from “terrorists” to “insurgents” to “criminals” in military-speak...
Thank you so much for your input. Rest assured I will give it all the consideration it merits.
