I never said that I won’t vote for “Ace”, but I’m not going to sing their praises.

Military life is hard on a marriage, especially during a war.

Having been apart for so long, and having endured what he and his first wife did, it’s doubtful that their marriage would have lasted anyway.

There are only two couples from my husband’s squadron who are still together.

There are many things not to like about him, but I’m not going to put blame on him, or her, for his first marriage ending.

"Making an attempt."

I know...I'm trying, too.

Me, neither. I’m just trying to make peace, acceptance or whatever the 5th level of the anger, denial, bargaining, shock, etc is.

I found a couple shocking photos but didn’t include them as I’m trying to transcend that McCain is our president.

That or move to Mexico.

I agree...it’s all about character.

But, I do think those years as a POW added stress that most don’t encounter in their entire lifetimes.

Sometimes I see him and have a rush of love for him as POTUS.

Then I come back to my senses. We’re just gonna have to trust the guy. Ditch our brains in favor of our hearts, or else we’ll never get through the next four years.

Man, we’re all trying. Course, I’ll wake up tomorrow hating him and have to go through this exercise all over again.

It doesn’t bother you that Cindy helped John break up his first marriage?/

Oh, do tell us all about it - you were obviously a first hand witness and really know what happened - or are you just going on what some reporter wrote - we know, of course, what sterling characters they are...

One of the things I like about voting for McCain is the delicious irony of having a former “guest” of the Hanoi Hilton as leader of the Free World.

North Vietnam can not be happy about this notion.

It really would be quite amazing and inspiring.

Omigosh! You, too?

He was my very last choice...RuPaul wasn't in the running.
It would help if he quit ticking off conservatives.

I received this email today:

Subject: Cindy McCain

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John”s wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems she is. This is a summary of the article.

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher.
After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father.

They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate.
She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these countries on a detonation team and service on their board.

They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son in the Naval Academy, a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ., an adopted daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.
Raised kids in Phoenix, Az rather than Washington DC.(better atmosphere) He commuted.
In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh. Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems.

They have a Family Foundation for children’s causes.
She’s active with “Halo Trust” - to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.
She will join an overseas mission of “Operation Smile”, a charity for corrective surgery on children’s faces.
She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.

I’m surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the price of one. A person with business and international experience. John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She, however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.

On FNC’s site today in the urgent section, Bobby Jindal admitted he was on the short list for VP.

I think it’s too early, but since the US is having an overall and complete FUBAR’d Election ‘08, I’d be thrilled with Jindal.

So it’s not all bad, maybe.

The Vietnamese knocked his teeth out. I think he’s doing pretty damn good for that situation.

After reading she was a special needs teacher, I can’t help but like her. My 14 year old has Down Syndrome, so I’ve come across a few special needs teachers who have my deepest appreciation and gratitude for the work they do.

I’ve loved Jindal since his first run for governor.
He’d sure fit the Southern conservative quotient needed for McCain.

I know LA needs him now, but I’d sure love to see him, or Haley Barbour on the ticket.

The Barbour thing isn’t going to happen, though.
