The Services have special dream jobs like this for a few of their best people -- steely-eyed warriors with hard ***** who just want to fly jets and teach other steely-eyed warriors how to do the same. No desk job, no staff assignment...just flyin' & fightin' (sigh).

Actually, the USAF makes it darn near impossible to just fly. And it sounds like this Lt Col has 29 years in...by law, you couldn’t do that active duty.
