A violation would carry steep fines, ranging from $100 to $1,000. ... and free medical marijuana to snitches!

Walgreens, by selling cigarettes is simply insuring future sales of cancer and cardiac drugs.
A sound business plan.

As goes Newsom, so goes Bloomberg.
Stan's Fag Disco is one city I never saw the appeal of. I have been there four times and to me, it is just a theme park for the smug latte left. Lots of other cities (including Buffalo NY) have nice victorian architecture, and, sorry, but LA has better restaurants. Tied with Seattle for the most overrated city in the US.

You can be quite certain that the major drugstore chains will support this because small, independent drugstores rely more on tobacco sales than the big ones. Here in Canada they banned tobacco sales in drugstores about ten years ago with no opposition from the county’s largest drugstore chain- even though the chain was owned by Canada’s largest tobacco company. The tobacco ban all but wiped out the independents but the two largest chains are flourishing.

Mayor must have been paid off by the party waiting with a huge baseball glove to absorb the business. Mayor equity owner in the enterprise? One wonders.

When I was in high school, I worked in a small independent drug store and we sold cigarettes and ammo. OTOH, the queers and hippies never got a foothold here. We sent em to the coast.

When I was in high school, I worked in a small independent drug store and we sold cigarettes and ammo. I miss those full service stores with the signs like "Last chance to buy alcohol , tobacco , and firearms".

and don’t forget bait and food... though sometimes you couldn’t tell which was which. We still have those around here. Welcome to Utah. Please set your watch back 20 years.
