Can you sue a snakeoil salesman?

Al Gore may be facing a potential lawsuit over Global Warming according to the British newspaper, the Telegraph.

The medicine peddlers used a number of tricks and stunts. The larger traveling shows, employing advance men to herald their arrival, entered town with circus-like fanfare, typically with a band leading the procession of wagons. Skits and other diversions were used to attract audiences, who eventually were treated to the "Lecture" (which, when medicine shows expanded into radio, became the commercial). Assistants who moved through the crowds were often garbed as Quakers to lend an air of moral respectability. Native Americans were frequently recruited to promote the notion of "natural" medicine which was given names like Wright's Indian Vegetable Pills, Seminole Cough Balsam, and various Kickapoo cures (Holbrook 1959, 196-215; Munsey 1970). According to journalist Catherine Elsworth, the former founder of the Weather Channel and meteorologist John Coleman spoke of a lawsuit against Gore during a conference in March, that since then Coleman has received "thousands and thousands of emails with lots of support" and "thousands of these people want to donate to a legal fund to sue Al Gore".

Elsworth noted that Coleman feels the court would be the venue to settle the issues relating to the "hype" of Global Warming, especially those who are involved in selling carbon credits.

Gore's carbon footprint may be the size of Godzilla's, but he eases his conscience with 'carbon offsets.' He buys them from himself. And every time someone else buys them, Big Al gets richer. Source - Investor's Business Daily

Lawsuit. I'm all for it.
How about false advertising against Alliance for Climate Protection. The commercials that say “the climate is in a crisis”.

If the Earth continues shifting into a cooling phase, led by present solar inactivity and recent cooling Pacific Ocean (all facts), we will ALL have grounds to sue Gore and all the law makers that were flat out wrong about their climate forecasts. The actions of these snake oil circus clowns will dramatically increase the affect that severe global cooling has on humans. We are not only talking about law suits here, but the justification for allowing the existence of any global governing entity that ends up being a clear a present danger to the survival of humanity. The concept of Global Governance itself will come into question. The inherent inaccuracy of knowing what is and what will be happening on a globe this large and this complex, assures us that any Global Governing based laws are far more likely to do more harm then good. Lucky for us these global snake oil circus clowns ended up being at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Would you want to do a daily thread, and simply have that days picture as the post, instead of a news article?

Yes indeed. I've been watching these for a couple of weeks. At first I thought how unique, but now as the days drag on, it is getting more strange and I'm feeling slightly uneasy about viewing an unchanging sun. It is unsettling, for sure.

I’ve been printing a copy everyday and I add the URL img src to every gw thread I see; the image automatically updates each day on its own the way it is; but whatever...
