Once again, our potential fearless leader, backs off when a Democrat criticizes him.

Are you kidding? Or do you not know the backstory of this situation?

The Dems have him dead to rights on this one. The bridge had a fundamental design flaw that caused its failure. His earlier statement against wasteful spending did not apply in this case. So McCain has to be careful and backtrack on the finger pointing the bridge collapse while still maintaining that "wasteful spending" is still a valid concern of the next president.

Yes, they do. McCain, like so many who spend so much time in elected office, follows the pattern. He wants to use an event to advance an agenda. He doesn't care what the facts are. He has no idea. Like Katrina, the greatest rescue operation ever mounted in the lower 48. And the greatest failure of state and local government ever.

But never mind that. It doesn't fit the story line. And he is the most "principled" candidate in this race.
