Posting one's opinion on the probable outcomes and originations of this case is not in any way related to "innocent until proved guilty.

That is intellectually dishonest. The children have been taken, without evidence, but merely suspicion. It is not CPS's job to take children on what 'could' happen, but this decision should be based on a case by case basis on what 'did' happen. Because Billy-Bob abused a child does not mean that you or I would do the same. The fact that 4 weeks into this fiasco, we have no arrest warrants, no evidence that every child was abused and a handful of pregnant teen age girls does not mean that every child has, or is going to be abused.

Find the people responsible for statutory rape, and give them their day in court. That's why we have a court system.

Hodar,
Think of it this way. If you had a few kids ( 10, 12 and 14 y/o girls) that were living with your wife and her boyfriend...and one of the kids told you that the boyfriend was hurting them and Mom was allowing it because the new church they go to says it's ok...and your oldest daughter is calling the boyfriend husband and getting a tummy..would you want the kids to be left there while the ex and her new guy were checked out, or would you be demanding they be removed, somewhere safe, probably with you, until an investigation was done ?

How waiting until a child is abused protecting them?

That is intellectually dishonest.

No. It's the opposite of intellectually dishonest. It's intellectually dishonest to pretend that postings on FR on a case under investigation influence the guilt or innocence of any person eventually tried in the criminal justice system. We need not withhold our own common sense or our abilities to discern truth with the evidence at hand simply because our justice system proclaims "innocent until proven guilty."

Find the people responsible for statutory rape, and give them their day in court.

Do you know what the typical time frame is for a criminal case for a situation where there is one possible victim and one suspect? Would you allow that 1) the extra media attention will cause a longer time frame than normal, and 2) the complicated nature of the interrelations of the suspects and alleged victims could cause a longer time frame than normal?

Keep in mind, the state of Texas knows there's plenty of people out there just like you, ready to crucify them for not crossing a "t," and all-to-ready to accept the excuses and excesses of a cult known for sexual assault.
