Hispanics, the nation's largest and fastest-growing minority group, now account for about one in four children younger than 5 in the United States, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates released today.
The increase from almost one in five in 2000 has broad implications for governments, communities and schools nationwide, suggesting that the meteoric rise in the Hispanic population that demographers forecast for mid-century will occur even sooner among younger generations.
"Hispanics have both a larger proportion of people in their child-bearing years and tend to have slightly more children," said Jeffrey S. Passel, senior demographer at the Pew Hispanic Center and co-author of a recent study predicting that the Latino population will double from 15 percent today to 30 percent by 2050.
"So this means that in five years, a quarter of the 5- to 9-year-olds will be Hispanic, and in 10 years a quarter of the 10- to 14-year-olds will be Hispanic. It's just going to move up through the age distribution with each successive cohort being slightly more Hispanic," Passel said.
Hispanics account for more than half of children younger than 5 in New Mexico and California, where their share of the overall state population is 44 and 36 percent, respectively. In Texas, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado, about one-third or more of children younger than 5 are Hispanic.

A culture built around Christ and family and willing to risk their lives in jail or death just to find a hard job that pays half decent wages - is that really the kind of people we want in this country?
This means the end of the traditional Anglo-Saxon America we have known. Can anything be done? Should we emigrate? But to where? Canada is socialist, as are the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
Im concerned that our society will not have enough cans and bottles in dumpsters for all of these future adults to pick up for recycling money. And there are only so many Churro vendors a latino packed park can support.
Sounds like they are.
But only as long as they come here LEGALLY.
Another thing to consider is that not every Hispanic that comes here has "a culture built around Christ and family". Part of the legal immigration process is weeding the lowlifes out before they get here.
Perhaps that is God’s plan for Anglo-Saxons?
A long time ago when the USA was more racially and ethnically homogeneous, we were an industrious nation not just hard working. Our people were the greatest innovators in the world and we transformed ourselves from an agrarian backwater into an industrial powerhouse in a very short time.
In order to prosper in a highly competitive world, we need a core of people who possess an unquenchable curiosity and thirst for knowledge. If their history is any guide, it is highly doubtful that the new Hispanic immigrants have these qualities.

The only ones risking jail are criminals or Border Patrol Agents doing their jobs. It is far more likely that an illegal will kill an American Citizen than that an illegal will die invading our country. American prisons are filled with those that fall short of your description.

The other day I went to pick up my granddaughter at her brand new school. The school just opened in August of this year and is in one of the newest parts of town. I came home and told hubby....every 3rd kid out the gate was hispanic. Of course we live in ground zero.....San Joaquin Valley of California.
Well, actually, that cross-over point was reached in the early 1900's.
Today, white guys with a Polish grandfather and a Jewish mother on their father's side and an Irish grandfather and an Italian gradmother on their mother's side call themselves "Anglo-Saxon" but, according to the 19th Century definition, they most certainly are not.

I think you are off base here. I do not think these folks are into Catholic liberation theology. I think they just want to better their lives, and have finally decided that Mexico will never improve, so they came up here.
The future of the USA will depend on our handling this population both fairly and honestly. The problem is, with so many liberals making the decisions, the chances of that happening is pretty low.
This country has a magnificent history of assimilating all sorts of immigrants in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Those folks came here to put their pasts behind them and to become citizens of this great country. They eagerly learned the English language and utilized the schools and their freedoms to raise up their status.
It’s too bad that liberals are so ignorant of history. If they had an ounce of brains they would know how to go about assimilating the hispanics among us.

Unfortunately, they’re coming in too fast to BE Americans, so they just Mexicanize America.

The replacement rate is 2.1 children per family. This is just what it takes to maintain the population.
Americans, excluding illegals, and this includes legal Hispanics, are reproducing at a rate of 1.8. If you exclude the legal Hispanics, the number drops much further.
Pregnant illegal immigrant women and mothers with infants qualify for 100% medical care. When asked how much they make, they reply, “less than $192/week. when asked how much their husbands make they reply, “i’m not married.” most hispanics have an unofficial, come-as-you-please, marriage that isn’t legal. neither are documented so there is no way to track how much they are making. They also receive “women infants & children” or WIC giving them free food while they are pregnant or nursing. this is hundreds of dollars of food per month.
Their kids also reap the benefit of not being documented. the same lies that their single mom makes little qualifying them for free breakfast & lunches.
When the children need medical care, the local “community hospital” qualifies them for the same reason. there is no way to find out how much the parents make.
Yall may think this is wrong: i saw a little mexican illegal immigrant. a child of an ex-friend. I told her the next time she was eating free lunch, listening to her IPod in new clothes, look over and say “Thank You” to the kid in old clothes whose parents have to pay for his medical care, clothes and food.
The liberals who rule us are not as much ignorant of history as they are possessed of a desire to undo it. They know perfectly well how to assimilate new arrivals, but because they see themselves as the righters of all wrongs, past, present, and future, and because they have subscribed to "multiculturalism" and therefore consider "assimilation" to be a form of oppression, they fight with all their power to prevent it.
There's also a practical consideration: immigrants that don't learn to speak the language will never be a competitive threat to the elites' mouthbreathing sprogs in the labor marketplace. Kinda like having your cake and eating it too: They get to congratulate themselves for being in favor of absolute equality, and at the same time guarantee a steady supply of low-wage cooks and gardeners for their country estates.
