Priya Venkatesan 90, a former Writing 5 lecturer and research associate at Dartmouth Medical School, is threatening to name seven of her former students in a potential civil rights lawsuit against the College, DMS and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Venkatesan announced Friday. I think that is a different one. See # 22.
You both need to see this. Trust me. ;)
Yes, but, she’s still guilty.
GMTA. I beat you to it!
Follow the links from Roger Kimball’s blog (#11) and further on, it is a fascinating comedy.
Me thinks the women is crazy
for the wah-hoo-wah crew, perhaps she is channeling Bill Cole....
I know. I had a lab TA who was absolutely wonderful - he wrote up detailed overheads with drawings for every lab, he’d always help when you asked, he kept good office hours, he was available for students who missed lab for a legit reason, etc. The only complaint was that his English was really bad, and it was difficult to understand him. In the end, when we filled out the student reviews, we all wrote that his lack of English skills was the only flaw we could find.
Personally, while I’ve had many, many liberal or otherwise left-leaning professors, all of them specified “It doesn’t matter whether or not I agree with you, what matters how well you write your paper.” However, I’ve learned to play off those left-leaning tendencies... for example, I’m pretty sure I could turn in a paper full of almost-gibberish provided I correctly use the word ‘heteronormative’ in it somewhere.
Another story, another commie Prof: Another Prof decided that Burt Lahr in the "Birds" was the coolest thing that came down down the pike.
I was voted, in my class, to be the most likely to starve and live under a bridge at the Catholic Prep School I was forced into attending. I took four years of Latin and Greek, plus frog.
I pointed out to the Prof that Aristophanes would have puked on the floor over that interpretation, bad mark.
Beer goggles ain't gonna help with her, better go with the hard stuff.
And he’s right. I remember one lovely man from Africa whose accent was so bad I couldn’t understand him when I stood next to him. When one woman administrator (Affirmative
Action director) suggested these foreign instructors take English speaking lessons, she was castigated. Too practical for them, I guess.
She probably can’t get a real job at a university so she ‘lectures.’
What bridge are you living under now? Hope it’s in warm country—smile.
It is Gruel or grits.
I dunno...the last time I trusted you I ended up buying that Enron stock...
I was 99% certain she was full of crap, but after reading that blog post I’m about 125% sure she’s ful of crap.
