REV-ENGE IS SWEET FOR 'BETRAYED' PASTOR

By FREDRIC U. DICKER State Editor

April 30, 2008 --

ALBANY - The Rev. Jeremiah Wright would be happy to see Barack Obama's presidential campaign derailed because the pastor is fuming that his former congregant has "betrayed" their 20-year relationship,

The Post has learned. "After 20 years of loving Barack like he was a member of his own family, for Jeremiah to see Barack saying over and over that he didn't know about Jeremiah's views during those years, that he wasn't familiar with what Jeremiah had said, that he may have missed church on this day or that and didn't hear what Jeremiah said, this is seen by Jeremiah as nonsense and betrayal," said the source, who has deep roots in Wright's Chicago community and is familiar with his thinking on the matter.

"Jeremiah is trying to defend his congregation and the work of his ministry by saying what he is saying now," the source added.

"Jeremiah doesn't care if he derails Obama's candidacy or not . . . He knows what he's doing. Obviously, he's not a dumb man. He knows he's not helping."

The source spoke yesterday about Wright's motivation for thrusting himself back into the news, the day after the pastor appeared at the National Press Club on Monday and embarrassed Obama by accusing the United States of terrorism.

Wright has said the reason he has begun granting interviews and making public appearances now is that he wants to defend black churches.

But the source said the preacher's motivation is much more personal.

Will have to wait for a response or non-response from Wright. Obama neither denounced or repudiated Wright.

However Wright saying “If Senator Obama did not say what he said, he would never get elected. Politicians say what they say and do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls.” is not good for Obama.

Interesting. What kind of ministser thinks it is only about HIM and not about his the betterment of those to whom he ministered.

Seems like there is a lot of excess arrogance on the RAT side of this campaign (starting ,of course, with the always above any law-— Clintons).

Hey, friend—

You honor me tremendously.

I am now set to have a WONDERFUL day, thank you  :-)

I don’t know where all this idiocy is going to lead us, but it sure is entertaining.

Indeed it is.

At times, however, I have to stop and remind myself that America is a country that I don't know as well as I think that I do, despite being born here and having lived here my entire life.

The mere fact that a significant number of people would even entertain the notion for a moment of electing either Clinton or Obama tells me that there is a deep sickness in our land, and it is far stronger than many realize.  The closeness of the last election absolutely terrified me.....the idea that so very many people have been hypnotized by the siren song of Socialism causes me unending angst.  Despite the ready availability of news on the internet which richly details the endless failures of the Left, it seems that many, many people insist upon being breathtakingly stupid and following an ideology that's been proven and reproven as a complete failure.  Apparently, many are of the opinion that it can't happen to us, and they will get a very rude awakening when they discover that America is not completely immune to the laws of economics and culture.

As always, thank you so much for your posts my friend  :-)

So it all comes down to this. Those who vote for Obama do not care whether he is baptized or not, they do not care about his and Rev. Wright’s alleged mohammedanism, they scorn information like that, and of course they are not going to accept the criticism that they are fools to believe opposite utterances that can not be true at the same time. Which refusal is the first thing you read about in “How to win friends and influence people”. Neat. It’s beginning to sound all very familiar. As if nothing ever changes. Well, the real things do not change their nature, their appearances perhaps, but even that not very much. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.

Yes...but orchestrated by who? It's clear that Wright is an anti-American commie...they are capable of anything.

Obama is a liability to a hard leftist agenda if he is sincere. I watched the press conference yesterday...Obama has been setup to fail by his own "associates". They kept him ignorant and then hit him where it hurts at just the right moment.

Imagine...your own pastor trying to take you down. How many people could overcome that kind of political sabotage?

Great post flaglady47. This part really hits the nail on the head.

He knows how Obama really thinks politically, after all Preacher Wright groomed him for the last 20 years, or perhaps indoctrinated would be a better word. Wright knows what Obama has said to him over the years, has done for and with him over the last 20 years, and has the goods on Obama big time.

BO is trying to look at this like a person who has been smoking marajuana on a daily basis for 20 years, but he/she is not a dope head, or a person who drinks a 12 pack of beer every day and is not an alcoholic. BS. He may be fooling some people, but not me.

I have been in the Army National Guard for over 35 years, and I learned most of really important do's and don'ts the first few years. I still know how to stand at attention, salute, march in formation, etc. I did not need 20 years to learn that, just a few months. I know if I don't salute an officer outside, I can get into trouble.

BO knows he can't just "quit that preacher" any more than a druggie can stop smoking dope in one day or an alcoholic stop drinking in one day either. BO is full of Shiite lies. That is why he smell like BO.

Shucks, Stoat- you've always been one of my favorite characters around here- thanks for the kind words.

As you mentioned:

The mere fact that a significant number of people would even entertain the notion for a moment of electing either Clinton or Obama tells me that there is a deep sickness in our land, and it is far stronger than many realize.

I always said the elevation of the Clintons to our land's highest office- and re-affirming it with re-election, showed a deep disease in the electorate.

We've survived corrupt, incompetent Presidents before, but I'm not sure we'll survive the corruption and coarseness that's infecting our culture.

Your's is a good theory - likely to be true.

But, I do not see Obama as free from Wright, even if he burns him in effigy. They are attached at the butt thru this election. 20 years of racist mentoring cannot be dismissed. Everything Wright says from now on, Obama will have to reply, or hang his head in shame. Right now, the news about Obama is Wright related. If Wright continues to fan the flame, the news will remain the same re. Obama/Wright. Clinton almost becomes a secondary problem for Obama.

I cannot believe Wright would forgo the power & prestige he stands to gain if Obama won the POTUS, just to defend his past “out-of-context” words. Besides, Obama’s previous denunciations were mild.

Something “funny” is going on here, for sure.

Perhaps Wright demanded way too much in exchange for moderation or silence, and was turned down? Could be he is turning up the heat, 'til he gets what he wants.

As for HRC. If she is so stupid as to get in the middle of this fight, then the Wright plague may infect her, too.

“the idea that so very many people have been hypnotized by the siren song of Socialism causes me unending angst.”

I feel exactly the same way, in fact I was just commenting this morning that a short generation ago it used to be, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country.”

Now it is, “Waaaawaaaa, I want free health care and the government should punish the evil oil companies for making profits!”

The public skrewel system is achieving major advancement.

A distinct possibility. Good point. Pay up for silence.

Obama joined Wright's church to get a politcal power base and tried to push him behind the scenes when he advanced to the next step. He had to step that process up when the Wright sound bytes started being broadcast. Wright got mad and got even.

Exactly! No need for a complex explanation, when it is really that simple.

He associates with Bill Ayers for the same reason, to build his political power base of America haters.
