We'll start with my pic that looks almost exactly like the one Ms. Lauren found. Her pic has someone on the brow...that's the bridge to Ford Island in the background. You cross that to get to the Arizona Memorial.
Here's the Bowfin from the opposite side. If I were higher, you would see the USS Arizona and USS Missouri in the background.
Here's a shot of a mock-up of the Bowfin's control room with periscope and fire control systems. The panel on the near left is the (I believe) Torpedo Data Computer (TDC) used to calculate range, bearing, run time, and other data for the torpedo to ensure a hit. As you can see, it's very cramped in there!
The Bowfin Park has a working periscope set up on the grounds. This picture looks across the foredeck of the Bowfin (see the tourists?) and Pearl Harbor to the USS Missouri and USS Arizona Memorial. Behind the Arizona on Ford Island is the red and white striped control tower for the airfield. That tower is the original from December 7, and is prominent in the recent Pearl Harbor movie.
Cool pics, HJ....I want to go back, was there many, many years ago, and see the new stuff. I would love to go thru the Bowfin, but I’m not sure I could manage without a clear and uncluttered way out.

You’re right, that is the TDC.
The conning tower, not the control room. The control room is below the conning tower. The conning tower is in the “sail” and if seen on a drawing it would look very much like a “rounded-edged” barrel.
