It’s absolutely silly for at least two reasons:
(1)She couldn’t get on the ballot in enough states to win.
(2)After Obama loses to McCain, Hillary will instantly become the 2012 Democratic front-runner.
Oh, boy! I think she’d beat Obama as an independent, but I question her winning in a 3-way race. Although it could be possible. It would mean minimal Democrat crossing over to McCain.
There are probably at least a dozen states that you couldn't even file all the paperwork and get on the ballot as an independent, if you wait until after their convention in August to try this stunt.
As much fun as it would be eating all the popcorn required to watch this unfold, night after night, it's just NOT going to happen.

I’d say pure blackmail. She’ll back off...but at a price. It’d need to be good, too. Supreme Court nomination perhaps? Or maybe the Vice Presidency, which she has already stated she wouldn’t accept, and we know she never lies...
