Thank God the Supreme Court has upheld a common sense voter ID law.
Elections have consequences, folks. Suppose John Kerry had won in ‘04. Instead of Roberts and Alito, Kerry would have appointed two liberals to fill the Supreme Court vacancies, who would have tilted the Court to the left. This decision would have been decided differently without Roberts and Alito. Instead of 6-3 upholding the law, it would have been a 5-4 vote rejecting the law if two more liberals had been on the court.
In an unrelated story, Oregon Governor Ted Kulongoski has said that expired driver's licenses, library cards, last years Christmas cards and notices from The Publisher's Clearing House will now be considered valid forms of ID.
