Getting laws passed takes more than drafting up some hopeless drivel that no one but your paulbot followers will read.

When 537 legislators wish to raise spending and you are the one that wishes to lower it the only way to get legislation passed is to ... raise spending. You're telling me that voting "yes" to a spending increase would constitute "accomplishing something"?

Get back to me when RP actually accomplishes something in Congress besides taking up space and voting “no” on everything.

Voting "no" to immoral and/or illegal legislation de facto accomplishes more than anyone else in Congress. Shall we compile a history of all of the bills that failed by one vote? Shall we compile a list of all the bills that failed by, say 2-5 votes and wonder just how much less statism there we be if we had just a few more like Paul in Congress? Shall we compile a list of all of the bills that would need a 2/3 vote to pass that President Paul would veto?

Or do you want to admit that you have no response?

You could train a monkey to do that.

Then what does that say about all of the other Congressman, especially the "small government" Republicans, that we can't even train them to do that much?

In the last couple of sessions of Congress, here are a few bills Ron Paul sponsored which passed:

72. H.AMDT.271 to H.R.2862 An amendment numbered 10 printed in the Congressional Record to prohibit any of the funds in the Act from being used by the U.N. to develop or publicize any proposal concerning taxation or fees on any United States person to rause revenue for the U.N. or any of its specialized or affiliated agencies. Sponsor: Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] (introduced 6/15/2005) Cosponsors (None) Latest Major Action: 6/15/2005 House amendment agreed to. Status: On agreeing to the Paul amendment (A024) Agreed to by voice vote.

75. H.AMDT.506 to H.R.3199 An amendment numbered 19 printed in part B of House Report 109-178 to express the sense of Congress that no American citizen should be the target of a federal investigation solely as a result of that person's political activities. Sponsor: Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] (introduced 7/21/2005) Cosponsors (None) Latest Major Action: 7/21/2005 House amendment agreed to. Status: On agreeing to the Paul amendment (A018) Agreed to by voice vote.

107th Congress: 68. H.AMDT.480 to H.R.4546 An amendment numbered 9 printed in part A of House Report 107-450 to prohibit funds authorized in the bill from being used to assist, cooperate with, or provide any support to the International Criminal Court. Sponsor: Rep Paul, Ron [TX-14] (introduced 5/9/2002) Cosponsors (None) Latest Major Action: 5/10/2002 House amendment agreed to. Status: On agreeing to the Paul amendment (A010) Agreed to by recorded vote: 264 - 152 (Roll no. 155).

So he doesn't want the UN to tax us, he doesn't want domestic politcal persecution, and he believes in national sovereignty, and he got laws passed on all those things. If only we could train any Dem or any other Repub to do that!

So he tacked on a slam dunk amendment to someone else’s bill that was going to pass anyway. Note there were no cosponsors on any of these “riders.” Just about all Congress critters toss stuff like this onto freight train budget bills all the time. It takes little effort and is expected, so they can have a fig leaf to hide behind when they go back to their constituents to claim they “did something” in Washington.

It’s a who different level of effort to initiate an original bill and fight for it to be passed. RP has never done that.

Way to move those goalposts! We’ve gone from “he accomplished nothing” to “those three examples are really only one, and that one is not an accomplishment anyway.”

Anyway, I got back to you with some examples, however lame. Now, why don’t you get back to me with some examples of these mythical Congressmen who have proposed and passed legislation to shrink the government, which somehow grew by over a trillion per year despite those successful leadership efforts. Who were these people, and how were their bills ultimately thwarted so that the explosive growth of government continued and expanded?

One of the hallmarks of the Republican Party is its emphasis on personal responsibility. It's one of the most damning signs of how for the party has fallen from it even on the rank-and-file level that now how other Congressman voted is somehow Paul's fault. No, it couldn't be the fault of the politician who voted to shave our rights further down to a microscopic sliver. It's not our fault for continually voting these men into office knowing full well that they had done this and have no intention of stopping. No, it's Paul's fault! He should have found some way to use mind control and bend the minds of every last member of the House to vote his way. His own virtually flawless personal record is not enough. Everyone's record must be! Anything less than personally converting all of Washington DC is TOTAL FAILURE!!!

Threads like this alone should prove the futility of trying to convince someone who simply doesn't want to be. I only hope prosperity is kinder on us than Paul's detractors are on him.
