Penn State's student newspaper The Daily Collegian reported on Ann Coulter's hour-long speech there this month: "For possibly the first time in her career the conservative commentator, had nothing to say about a political issue. 'I have no opinion,' she told a student who asked her about Kosovo and Ukraine. That may be the first time those words have passed my lips."
"During her hour-long speech to a crowd of more than a thousand in HUB Alumni Hall last week, though, Ms. Coulter spoke candidly about her opinions on a variety of controversial subjects ranging from the war in Iraq to global warming to terrorism."
The usual, in other words. The easy stuff. And on the easy, day-to-day stuff, every conservative loudmouth in America has a strong and ready opinion. But on the fact that in the Kosovo giveaway of 2008 we've just repeated the Munich surrender of 1938 nothing.

That’s true...but it is telling how little people even paid to know this stuff don’t know about Kosovo. It’s what our government counts on.
I guess you don’t like the idea of some of us opposing a bunch of Jihadist illegal immigrants stealing part of someone else’s country.
Maybe when the Mexicans grab Aztlan, you’ll realize what you’ve bought into.
Since you mention the actions of illegal immigrants in the US in your tagline, why do you think the Serbs shouldn’t oppose theft of their land by illegal immigrants from Albania?
That makes sense.
I love Ann, but Julia is right. Ann and others like Rush and Hannity rarely if ever, talk about Kosovo. Me thinks they don’t know/understand the situation. And that’s ok, there is time to learn. The are the spokespeople of conservatism and they should be schooled in this area of the world. The ramifications of what happens in Kosovo are tremendous. Michael Savage gets it, one of the only talkshow hosts that do.
When the UN/laRaza comes a knockin for Atzlan the precedent has been set in the land grab of Kosovo
I think that Julia respects Ann alot and that’s why she wrote this.
Ann if you are reading this...watch the you tube in my tagline.....coming to a theater near you on day!!!
I have mixed emotions on Kosovo because this seems so contrary from the rest of the "Muslim behavior" in war situations.
Here we are told it is the Christians who inflicted genocide on the Muslim?
It makes me scratch my head and the way the media has distorted photos in the pass and done other things I don't know what to think?
Hatred of Orthodox Christians seems to trump the War on Terror in the Balkans in a lot of quarters. At least Ms. Coulter is neutral, rather than siding with the Muslim terrorists like Clinton, Clinton, Albright, Bush, Rice, Blair, Brown, McCain, Brezinski (on Obama’s foreign policy team—Obama himself doesn’t seem to have weighed in on the Balkans yet), the NYTimes editorial board, . . .
Yup, just like Bosnia was a backwater in 1914. I think you’re ignoring how strongly the Christian East, Russia included, feels about this attack on their interest, and how dangerous the creation of a Muslim terror state in Europe actually is.
Typical tactic of a leftist nobody. Dropping the name of a famous conservative to get attention. Hasn’t worked for olbermann, won’t work for whoever this is. Who cares what Ann’s opinion of Kosovo is, anyway? The Balkans defy understanding, as Bismarck said long ago.
Here you are told lies, concocted by the Muslims.
Where are the bodies? There was no genocide, the Racak massacre was faked—KLA battle casualties were dressed up in civilian clothes—and in the previous war the Bosnian Muslims shelled their own people to provoke Western interevention (this conclusion from Japanese investigators).
Muslims lying to gain an advantage when they are in the weaker position (as they were vis-a-vis the Serbs without Western help) is completely in character.
And I guess you haven’t been following the accounts of Carla del Ponte’s findings of Albanian butchering of Serb prisoners to harvest organs for sale.
Of course that didn’t fit the script of the kangaroo court in the Hague that was supposed to find Serbs guilty, and exhonorate Muslims and Croats.
Yes, and I would add indifference to Christians the world over. Look at the Chaldean Christians in Iraq. Whatever one thinks of the invasion, the ancient Chaldean communitees are now in a precarious situation. They may not survive in the "New Iraq." I'm not apologizing for Saddam, just saying that we made no provisions for Chaldeans' safety. We must have foreseen that they would have trouble with the Muslims in the aftermath.
If we are at war with Islam, why do so many of our efforts favor Muslims in a way that Christians get it in the neck? Our foreign policy undercuts the very people who are most likely to support us. Every move we make always seems to strengthen the enemy.
No, it doesn't. Ann Coulter was on my Balkan issues mailing list for years. Ann Coulter just doesn't want to take a stand that might embarrass both Bush and McCain, since McCain has taken millions from the Albanian lobby. An Coulter is chicken.
Right, that's why "Kosovo" has been at the top of every European country's political agenda for the last year; that's why Russia, China and us nose to nose on this issue and no one's blinking; that's why the US broke every international law back to the Treaty Of Wetphalia including the Helsinki Final act, in order to grant it "independence"; and why every secessionist group from Palestine to Tibet, is trying to use Kosovo as a precedent for their independence.
You need to do some homework on this issue.
So she wasn’t silent she just said she did not have an opinion. WAAYYYYY different.
James Harff was Director of the Washington-based PR firm Ruder Finn Global Public Affairs. He directed the company's efforts in representing the Yugoslavian republics seeking to secede: Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo (Albanians).
Harff: For 18 months, we have been working for the Republics of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as for the opposition in Kosovo. Throughout this period, we had many successes, giving us a formidable international image. We intend to make advantage of this and develop commercial agreements with these countries. Speed is vital, because items favourable to us must be settled in public opinion. The first statement counts. The retractions have no effect.
Merlino: How often do you intervene?
Harff: Quantity is not important. You have to intervene at the right time with the right person. From June to September, we organized 30 meetings with the main press agencies, as well as meetings between Bosnian officials and Al Gore, Lawrence Eagleburger and 10 influential senators, among them George Mitchell and Robert Dole. We also sent out 13 exclusive news items, 37 last-minute faxes, 17 official letters and eight official reports. We placed 20 telephone calls to White House staff, 20 senators, and close to 100 to journalists, editors, newscaters and other influenctial people in the media.
Merlino: What achievement were you most proud of?
Harff: To have managed to put Jewish opinion on our side. This was a sensitive matter, as the dossier was dangerous looked from this angle. President Tudjman [of Croatia] was very careless in his book "Wastelands of Historical Reality". Reading this writtings, one could accuse him of of antisemitism. In Bosnia, the situation was no better: President Izetbegovic strongly supported the creation of a fundamentalist Islamic state [there] in his book "The Islamic Declaration". Besides, the Croatian and Bosnian past was marked by a real and cruel anti-semitism. Tens of thousands of Jews perished in Croatian camps. So there was every reason for intellectuals and Jewish organizations to be hostile towards the Croats and Bosnians. Our challenge was to reverse this attitude. And we succeded masterfully.
At the beginning of August 1992, New York Newsday came out with the affair of [Serb] concentration camps. We jumped at the opportunity immediately. We outwitted three big Jewish organizations - B'nai B'rith Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Committee, and the American Jewish Congress. We suggested to them to publish an advertisement in the "New York Times" and to organize demonstrations outside the United Nations.
That was a tremendous coup. When the Jewish organizations entered the game on the side of the [Muslim] Bosnians, we could promptly equate the Serbs with the Nazis in the public mind. Nobody understood what was happening in Yugoslavia. The great majority of Americans were probably asking themselves in which African country Bosnia was situated. But by a single move we were able to present a simple story of good guys and bad guys, which would hereafter play itself. We won by targeting Jewish audience. Almost immediately there was a clear change of language in the press, with the use of words with high emotional content, such as "ethnic cleansing", "concentration camps", etc., which evoked images of Nazi Germany and the gas chambers of Auschwitz. The emotional charge was so powerful that nobody could go against it.
Merlino: But when you did all of this, you had no proof that what you said was true. You only had the article in "Newsday"!
Harff: Our work is not to verify information. We are not equipped for that. Our work is to accelerate the circulation of information favorable to us, to aim at judiciously chosen targets. We did not confirm the existence of death camps in Bosnia, we just made it known that "Newsday" affirmed it.
Merlino: Are you aware that you took on a grave responsibility?
Harff: We are professionals. We had a job to do and we did it. We are not paid to be moral.
James Harff, Director of Ruder Finn, Global Public affairs section, in the Jacques Merlino interview, April 1993. (reprinted in a book in Oct. 1993)
I’m afraid it’s been going on for a long time, at least since 1204. (Of course, even the First Crusade had an unsuccessful go at beseiging Constantinople, so longer than that.)
The ethnically cleansing allegations against the Serbs in Kosovo were as false as the claims of 100,000 mass graves filled with victims of Serb atrocities.
Hint: we found those graves...in Iraq, filled with Saddam’s victims.
The reason the Albanians have a majority in Kosovo now is because of the terror campaign against the Serb, Jew, and Roma people in Kosovo by the Jihadist illegal immigrants from Albanian.
Fact: Serbia remains the most multicultural nation in the Balkans.
Fact: since the NATO bombings, Kosovo is Judenfrei.
Nice rant. How you gonna get rid of them?
