Memo to Obama - Seven things he should do to fix his image problem.
Newsweek ^ | April 25th, 2008 | Howard Fineman

Posted on 04/25/2008 12:39:51 AM PDT by The_Republican

Senator Obama, you stand accused of being an out-of-touch, arugula-eating Ivy League elitist who couldn't convert a one-pin spare if the presidency depended on it. I don't have a dog in this fight (despite what Hillary Clinton supporters sometimes think of me) but here are my suggestions for how to reach, and be seen reaching, the "the real America" as you continue to grind toward the Democratic nomination. Obviously, you've got to talk in more meat-and-potatoes terms about how your economic proposals will help working people. But that's only part of what you need to do:

TELL US IN CONCRETE TERMS WHERE YOU ARE FROM. Kids under 30 don't care about geography. Born and bred in the Mapquest and GPS era, they can't even read a map. They live in and on the Internet, which is everywhere and nowhere at the same time. They are from brands, not places; lifestyle choices, not home-town roots. But that is not true of older people. For them, "where you are from" still matters, and you have to do a better, simpler job of explaining it in terms they understand. And where is that? It's not Indonesia, and it's probably not Hawaii (hard to translate in any case). It's not the Ivy League. You are from where you chose to be from, which is the South Side of Chicago.

WELCOME US TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD. So far, voters don't know much about your local roots. You have told them about being a "community organizer," but, as worthy as that may have been, most people haven't the faintest idea what it means. Unfortunately for you, they also know about your former minister (and his nasty remarks, which will haunt you forever).

Why was his trip to Pakistan ignored in his biographies?

"Image problem?" Maybe his trouble is that people are finding out who he is.

Libs are always suckers for the shiny product with a slick salesman. Obama has a Cadillac exterior with a Yugo interior.

Did Howard Fineman ever suggest to President Bush what he should do to fix his image problem? First journos in the MSM got on their knees to Bill Clinton for eight years, now they are doing the same for Barack Hussein Obama.

As for the answers to the questions Fineman puts, all he need to is read BHO's books.

Here are mine:

1. Resign your Senate seat.

2. Withdraw from the race.

3. Quit the Democrat party.

4. Start listening to Rush Limbaugh.

5. Read every book Thomas Sowell ever wrote.

6. Subscribe to National Review and read back issues at the library.

7. Repeat until conservative, then repeat until more conservative.

WELCOME US TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD.

Not likely, they wouldn't let most of us through the gate.

Interesting comment. Basically, "make up whatever you think the rubes will buy..."

Yes Barrack, tell us about what you did in Saul Alinsky’s Back-Of-The-Yards as a “community organizer.” Tell us about the Sandinista inspired Liberation Theology of your church. Tell us about the agenda of the Woods Foundation that you and served as a board member with William Ayers.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright tells Sean Hannity on Fox News that his church's "Black Liberation Theology" is modeled after the Nicaraguan Liberation Theology of the Sandinista... poor Sean is once again too dumb to go after the meat, and continues droning on with his tired talking points, this time being that Trinity United Church of Christ is "black separatist." Apparently this seemed juicier to Hannity than the fact that Obama has been listening to sermons laced with Communist Revolutionary propaganda for 20 years. He could have pressed Reverend Wright for some really damning sound bites, but of course, he didn't.

Way to go Sean... yet again.

Also, part of the clips from Reverend Wright that the media never showed was him exclaiming that Jesus was a poor black man. Then he claims that Obama isn't rich... but that $27,000 Obama gave to Reverend Wright last year says otherwise...
