Funny, i'm on an ABC blog and some Hillary supporter is whining that Florida and Michigan won't count. I said this:

The Florida votes don't matter....the party leaders set these rules and Obama and Hillary both agreed to abide by the party decision...until Hillary realized she needed whatever votes she got. It's too bad for Florida and Michigan voters but they have their party leaders to thank.

Obama is playing by the party rules. Now that it doesn't serve her purpose Hillary is not playing by the rules. I'm so surprised!

Do you think for one moment that if she were in Obama's position she wouldn't be hollering that the rules were set by the party and that Obama is a (insert adjectives) for trying to violate them?

And this is what he replied:

Well, then you and I can just agree to disagree. Some of us care whether the voters have a voice in this very important process; other's don't. Obama and his supporters seem to fit nicely with those Republican who attempted to disenfranchise voters in 2000 and 2004. Obama claims to have brought Republicans into his fold; maybe these are the supporters who have such little regard for Democracy.

What a whining whimp! Of course I wasn't done with him ...I love arguing with these guys. :-)

Fred would have been so great!

Sean asks what about a new contract with America?

Fred says- “...have we learned our lesson? Very few people on Capitol Hill have any credibility...”

No to VP

And his opposition to Obama according to Hannity was the most salient remarks.

Many of us disagree.

Fred is not a dud. He says things that need to be said, clearly, with humor and honesty. Always has.

It is our loss that he’s not the GOP candidate.

Fred is a normal guy. Sue him.

What person in his right mind would put up with the BS of a political campaign for POTUS...the endless scrutiny of your past (as if kicking your 7th grade teacher in the nuts was so bad).

He’d rather hang out with his kids and wife and be left alone. If there was enough groundswell of support for a conservative from us, he would serve.

I was hoping he would be McCain's maverick, but it is not in his nature.

BUT, imo, he was very, very, hard on Hussein tonight.

For that I am thankful.

He is an enormously talented man who relates so much better as a commentator than a candidate that it deserves some reflection.

He is a mature man, a man who has a purpose and interest in life apart from a political career. Indeed, I do believe he saw politics as tedium at best.

Listening to him, suggests that one should reflect on his lack of a Nietzschean "will to power" motive when it comes to the presidency. Yes, nice to have it, but only under this or that condition. Again, a mature man who is not narrowly focused in life. But not the sort of person willing to do what it takes to prevail in getting the office.

I think his campaign came unglued over the frequent personnel changes as well as that little film clip showing him with two very young children and a very young wife--he seemed to belong better there than in the oval office.

Windflier, DO has been striving valiantly for a long time here on FR to get people to confront the facts, logic and dire reality of the situation in which the American people are trapped. Unfortunately it is now obvious that most people are either so caught up in the heat of their partisan enthusiasms, or so cowed and intimidated into a resigned acceptance of a fait accompli that they simply won't listen. And, there is another segment or group:

...Folks don’t not only don’t get it, they’re angry if you ask them to at least contemplate the obvious.

Those who become angry do so because contemplating the obvious threatens to breach their wall of denial. They know he's right, they realize they're already screwed and feel they're powerless to do anything about it, and that terrible reality is just simply too much for them to face. Thus, they project their anger and frustration onto the one who forces them to think about what they cannot bear to consider and accept.

There are some who can see things clearly, but they are too few to make a difference now. If they try to force the majority to see what they WILL NOT see, sooner or later they'll get the same treatment the Trojans gave Cassandra... /grin
