The lava flow is continuing but that's not the problem since no one lives down there anymore. Tourists are only inconvenienced when the temp road gets covered.
The problem for all the Big Island is the SO4 in the air. It's coming from Hale Ma'uma'u caldera at the summit of Kilauea volcano. Depending on the prevailing winds, Vog can be pretty bad....bad enough to cause evacuations in nearby areas.
