I remember that day. I was stationed in Germany, and I was short!
I do not recall being on Alert or anything else notable in my Unit. (I had a lot of personal stuff going on during that time.)

I remember having to have served under Jimmah Carter, and seeing his picture in Battery HQ in the Chain of Command Pictures we all remember.
I remember then, and years later, how Army morale suffered during this crisis, and how frustrated and heartbroken we were when the rescue mission failed.
