POLYGAMIST RANCH
The Dallas Morning News ^ | 4-23-08 | Robert T. Garrett and Karen Brooks

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The first of more than 400 children taken from a polygamist compound boarded buses Tuesday bound for 16 emergency shelters, children's homes and foster care agencies throughout the state, including two in North Texas.

As the buses rolled out, the children eagerly waved and smiled at television cameras. Lawyers inside the San Angelo Coliseum who were meeting with their adult or child clients said authorities allowed no one in or out while the children, 114 of them by day's end, were loaded onto the buses.

The parents could not or would not identify their biological children, and the children did not know who their real mothers were. DNA testing will establish that.

The mothers knew that if they identified their own children and told their own identities and real ages, that information would implicate their polygamist husbands. So they all kept quiet and refused to say.

"Ms. Jessop fled the compound in 2003 with eight of her children.

She said that for several years now, children have been reassigned from one father to another and even one family to another as Warren Jeffs, the prophet of the FLDS, grew increasingly tyrannical.

That, she said, helps explain why so many of the children are unable or unwilling to tell authorities who their parents are."

__________________ CPS, Texas Rangers and Mothers meet (one day last week)

CPS workers, Texas Rangers, and some FLDS mothers meet and come to some agreement. Mothers agree to give Texas Rangers names of everyone in the shelters, their date of birth, and the name of the mother for each child.

Mothers also agree to give CPS a list naming everyone in the shelters and their date of birth.

Texas Rangers and CPS in turn agree to reunite children with mothers and return the cell phones. Later in the evening three ladies accompany Texas Rangers, CPS workers, and constables to each shelter, except #1 and #2, to help encourage the mothers and children to give the needed information.

Texas Rangers say they will be back in the morning to do shelters #1 and #2. The mothers and children respond and cell phones are returned. http://captivefldschildren.org/TimeLine.php

You guys need to talk! DU says that no one knows what 'cult' means. [Elsie]

Ain't that the truth!

At this thread yesterday http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2005973/posts Ghost of Nixon simply makes this observation: technically, they are not connected, and most of the connecting is being done out of ignorance. HOWEVER, the FLDS cult tries to follow the original LDS faith as created by Joseph Smith & practiced by Brigham Young - the main distinction being that they refused to abandon polygamy.

...for which Colorcountry thanked him for an "honest and forthright" post. That simple affirmation gets another poster bent out of shape ( Only responses which taint the LDS Church, more or less, are "honest and forthright"? [TChris])

Yet last week, LDS apologist Edward Watson claimed that fLDS are:

"Of course the FLDS is a Christian faith...Christian-Mormon-Fundamentalist Mormon-Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" as one of "four families in the Mormon branch of Christianity..." http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1999018/posts?q=1&;page=48 and http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1999018/posts?q=1&;page=319

Maybe if the Mormon apologists could just have a confab of their own to work out whether...
...fLDS is LDS...
...fLDS is "Christian"...
...fLDS is a cult...
...fLDS is not a cult, but a "legit" branch of Mormonism...
...LDS minus D&C 132 orthopraxy is orthodox "Mormon"...
...LDS is properly the "authorized" LDS church given that the Community of Christ/rLDS make the same claim with Zion/Independence, MO property in hand, ownership copyrights to the JST, JSmith's own direct descendents as leaders, etc...

Didn’t Carolyn Jessop have a daughter that went back to the FLDS?

Yes, when her daughter turned 18, she went back to live with her father.

‘Hate them’? ... Projection perhaps you have, troll. You are gleefully seeking to impugn the Texas foster care program. Yeah, you’re a liberal troll. But that was a nice try, troll.

You are a wicked liar.

If you don't like the report about the state of the foster care system in Texas, go attack the comptroller who investigated the system and wrote the report.

Stop with your hate filled attacks on people who are just discussing an issue in the news.

In other words, GET A LIFE.

Keep it up, troll. What’s next ‘go back to DU where you belong’ or some other troll mantra when the troll is exposed.

And after enough of that, they simply would have moved the children and then they would have moved, and nothing would be any different.

Last time I checked, being a constitutionalist wasn’t a crime.

I suggest that you examine your heart, because your wickedness is overflowing and spewing on this fine forum.

Last time I checked, being a constitutionalist wasn’t a crime.

It has become one here on FR. For even raising the Constitution you are a rapist and enjoy the thought of older men impregnating young girls.

AND! I noticed you haven't wrung your hands over the children for quite a number of posts either...........that makes you a pedophile also.

This is a conservative political website, right?

When’s the last time you posted on a politics-related thread?

Or are you only here for the Mormons?

This is a conservative political website, right?

(Maybe "news" has been slow to reach you...the political hotspot stuff died down in Feb...unless you're a Democrat)

Otherwise, this is a news site as well as political & activism (as in new news).

Here Elder Ballard said just this week that he was glad Romney was in the news--that even controversial discussions were better than "apathy" (his word) about the church. He said he'd rather Mormonism be in the electronic & mainstream media than absentia from it. So which is it? (We're "apathetic" according to LDS leaders if we don't discuss Mormonism in our "national conversations"; but we're "obsessed"--your word--if we do discuss them).

Tell you what. Why don't you have a confab with your leaders & get on the same page...perhaps with a more moderate temperate position somewhere more in the middle where there's less of an accusatory posture by either your general authorities & by LDS reps like you. (Then we won't be as confused or offended by these new magnetic "missionary" tactics of yours)

In other words, you don’t have the capacity to talk about anything else but Mormons. All Mormons, all the time. Got it.

I’ll just leave you alone to do that.

Talk amongst yourselves.

May God bless you.

You’re definitely obsessed with Mormonism. Seven pages of posting history, and you NEVER posted ANYTHING that was not Mormon-related...most of it the same cut-and-paste anti-Mormon spam you always post.

You need a new hobby as well.

Go with God.

You will have to ask yourself that.

Your wicked lies just show the content of your heart. Sadly, I guess your religion is in vain according to God.

Glad you are that interested in me.

Perhaps YOU can tell the lurkers here just what Joseph Smith 'learned' that was UNTRUE about PRESBYTERIANISM.

It seems the entire LDS Organization is built on it.

WARNING!! Anti-Mormon Spam alert!

Romans 6:17
But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

 Romans 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

 Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

1 Corinthians 11:1-2
 1.  Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
 2.  I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings,  just as I passed them on to you.

Ephesians 4:14
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings  we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

2 Thessalonians 3:6
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching  you received from us.

1 Timothy 1:3-4
 3.  As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer
 4.  nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.

1 Timothy 2:7
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

1 Timothy 4:6
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

 2 Timothy 1:13
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:2
And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.

Hebrews 13:8-9
 8.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
 9.  Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by ceremonial foods, which are of no value to those who eat them.

2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

Titus 2:1
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.

The FLDS folks hate the LDS church. They split from LDS back in 1890 over the issue of plural marriage, remember? The FLDS, therefore, is not interested in help from LDS. It’s a ridiculous idea. I think the authorities in TX who find themselves embroiled in this nightmare are trying now to find ways out of the web of lies, deceit, incompetence, cruelty, ignorance and evil. Too late. Too late for these poor kids.
