What happened to Pookie's Toons?
A little bit of hypocrisy I’d say.
More like a case of someone (who wasn't even involved in the previous episode) calling it like it is.
(Yet another Mod dips a finger in this one. I'm sure I'll regret it.) Who else could have answered that perfectly reasonable question? Being mysterious about this would serve nobody's interests, not Pookie's, not anyone on FR. So one of us explained the issue. I'm sorry if that alarms anyone but it's the most reasonable approach, I think.
The issue is copyright violations. It can turn FR dark, it really can.
Hey, they’ve got an axe to grind against Pookie. And they hold the power to hijack threads by changing headlines, so....
Remember the Golden Rule.
Wrong. It's called abusing the power of the position. Pretty pathetic.
Axe to grind? Asking that Pookie not jeopardize FR by posting many cartoons that violate FR excerpt guidelines is an axe to grind? And then countering claims by some that the moderating in question is somehow arbitrary and capricous is an axe to grind?
This is not a judgement call. This is legal black and white. This is serious stuff that could shut FR down.
Maybe that's what you'd like to see. That's about the only logical reason I can see why someone would take your position here. If you give a damn about the legal health of FR, it is illogical to back deliberate copyright violations.
Remember the Golden Rule.
Except that we don't have any gold - we get no pay. We just put in several hours a week because we give a damn about this site.
It’s sad. In one short thread and headline, I’ve lost all respect for the mods. They’ve shown themselves to be very petty.
Oh, spare me the sanctimonious spew. Given that pookie18 is basically demanding the right to put FR in continuous legal jeopardy by posting any damn restricted cartoon that pookie pleases, I'd say a bit of ridicule present in a headline change is pretty mild sanction.
Oh, that's gonna keep me up all night...
Listen. Pookie lost. He took his toons elsewhere. Yet you see fit to post a snarky headline as if to boast about your triumphs?
I’ve never stated here or anywhere that you were wrong to make your position. I agree with you, OK. But the headline change is petty and tacky.
And my point about the Golden Rule? Let’s just say that you make the rules here, and this headline is proof of your power.
Remember...moderate.
You have a hell of a lot of nerve. I’ve been freeping for 10 years but you don’t like my “kicking butt” occasionally so you conclude that I’m a mod with some strange reasoning.
You see this as a win-lose situation? That, quite frankly, is ridiculous.
He took his toons elsewhere. Yet you see fit to post a snarky headline as if to boast about your triumphs?
Hey, we did not start this thread. And pookie came in with a bucket load of sanctimony. All pookie needs to do to end this stuff is say "I won't post restricted cartoons". But pookie instead made this about the FR mods - when it is NOT OUR CALL.
Case in point.
Here you come with all the power of Jim Robinson behind you.
What? Did you just sign off as a moderator, and on as Jean S?
Well then, please start moderating, and put the title back the way it was.
No, you just said that someone you claimed to be a moderator was engaged in some kind of wrongdoing for posting under their own name to state the obvious to Pookie that Pookie should not be violating copyright restrictions. Which is silly. This is black-and-white stuff.
Jim:
Is there a reason why the moderators felt it necessary to change the title of this thread just to send a petty message? Can it please be returned to the original headline? Thank you.
Sorry, but the title change is an accurate reflection of what pookie and crew are up to.
It's more like an accurate reflection of the arbitrary pettiness of some of the mods who are supposed to be moderating posts and not interpreting and changing headlines to suit their purpose.
