“”We’re not going to have the engineers and the scientists to continue space exploration if we don’t have kids who are able to read, write and compute.””
Wow, I actually agree with Obama on something....hope it passes soon. :)
Has anyone noticed Hussein is the first candidate since FDR that smokes. How smart is the guy to not realize the associated health issues? Also note the media makes no mention of his tobacco addiction.
Obama wants to be sure that the Chinese control the high ground of space before we do.
"I grew up on Star Trek,' Obama said. I believe in the final frontier.' (Huh?)
Yet another example of the empty suit that is Barry (Barack) Obama
"But Obama said he does not agree with the way the space program is now being run and thinks funding should be trimmed until the mission is clearer. (It's actually much clear than his intentions toward Iran and nuclear weapon.) "
Hint...the mission will never be clarified and therefore funding will never be restored.
yea, it would be nice to get rid of NASA, funny, this author thinks conservatives are going to be critical of him for this his lack of funding expansion?
The Chinese will be on the Moon, Japan will have a permanent orbital station building a Mars mission, India wil be the goto country for sat launches, and we’ll have change. And hope.
1. This article only addresses the manned program which is wasted money. The unmanned program produces all the science.
2. The Atlas V will be man rated and meet all NASA safety criteria long before 2015.
3. The Ares is in trouble and may not even be viable.
4. If Obama allowed the manned program at NASA die it would be the best thing that could happen to NASA.
I wouldn’t expect Hussein to support NASA since he hasn’t a clue as to what science and engineering are about—the guy is nothing but a cheesy, cheap, race-baiting, politician lawyer seeking to lord it over whitey.
An occasional drink and swearing don’t have near the detrimental effect on healthcare that people that smoke or practice homosexual behavior or use IV drugs.
Perhaps because cigarettes are a legal product and it is no big deal?
Well, if money was diverted from BS science and math such as global climate change to real math and science programs we might find that we have students interested in science and math.
One of the key motivators during the 50s and 60s for kids to go into math and science was the space program — initiated by a GOP administration and hijacked as their own by a corrupt pair of democrats.
Possible scifi list ping?
If Barack Hussein Obama were to become president of the United States, his plans for NASA would be the least of our worries.
Has anyone noticed Hussein is the first candidate since FDR that smokes. How smart is the guy to not realize the associated health issues? Also note the media makes no mention of his tobacco addiction.
He quit that is why. Isn’t it a freedom of choice question. I can’t stand Obama, but let’s not get carried away with your liberalism. No I don’t smoke, but feel that people can if they want without the smoking police always saying snide remarks.
Gil Scott-Heron had a song about this back in 1970 I think.

Day one of the Obama Administration: Executive order authorizing unionization of 200,000 TSA employees (those wizards who make you take off your shoes at the airport). This is another bone to throw to his buddies at the Gov’t Unions - 18 billion of pre-K education is a GIFT to the teachers unions.

Ya....government math programs, where 1 + 1 = 3, and government “science” programs, aimed at inventing data to support preconceived social programs.
