That all depends on the meaning of the word "substance".

The Democrats have a substance problem. They know clear well the liberal socialist agenda they want to implement. They know that the American public would never submit to it.

Unfortunately, the ‘rats substance problem is becoming less and less so. There are just too many people voting that base their decisions on superficial things (as they learn from American Idol, and the like; what they fav star says - oprah/colburn/SNL) or change or hope or change-n-hope. If they could be sat down and reasoned with for a few hours with some civic history, some discussion of issues, and taught where the candidates really stand, we’d all be better off.

Mr. Obama was stumped when asked about capital gains tax increases. When Mr. Gibson told him that federal tax revenues increased when capital gains taxes were cut, Mr. Obama looked liked a little kid who just learned there is no Santa Claus. He shifted into demagogue mode at this point, saying, "What I've said is that I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness. ...This is pure evil.

The most evil ideology hides behind the words “Peace and Social Justice”. It produces neither.

I am afraid most of these people are beyond reasoning. They have been brought up to believe that all problems can be solved by government and if we still have problems we just need more government. They are like alcoholics who wake up lying in the gutter and decide that what they need most of all is another drink.

Agreed. My emphasis is on "could" in the hypothetical sense.
If a miracle occurred, and these folks came to their senses, there would then be ten more to take their place at the voting booths.
