The problem lies with the wooly-headed morons we put into the colleges to teach over the last 40 years. Washed up 60’s hippies taught us “moral equivalancey” and that we should “tolerate” other cultures because, hey, we are all worth the same. My dad's high school history book, circa 1945, told you that America was superior to all other countries, that Western Culture was the only one worth emulating, and that any belief system that would kill over this kind of thing was full of idiots. When we started doing anything but laughing with a superior sneer at stories like this, we were cooked.

Bingo.

“My dad’s high school history book, circa 1945, told you that America was superior to all other countries, that Western Culture was the only one worth emulating, and that any belief system that would kill over this kind of thing was full of idiots.”

It was worth stating again. If you stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.

The bill coming due for the boomer generation is going to be a doozy. You’re already starting to see it:

1. Let’s grow our own gasoline! Wouldn’t that be great?
2. Let’s bail out those poor pilgrims that signed on the dotted lines for those houses they couldn’t afford.
3. Let’s not do nuclear. We may burn a hole in the planet that goes all the way to China. (Oh, we won’t? Nuclear is clean? Well, my bad. Just don’t do it within sight of my beach house, OK).
4. If we keep people from drilling for oil here in the US, then the price of gas will get so high free enterprise will have to do something about it, and that’s activism!

You have to hand it to them though, is there ANYONE, before or since, that’s been better at marketing? Truly, this is their legacy.
