Ahh, but tearing apart some other religion and calling all that disagree with you filthy names is far more fun, and one can feel better about the shortcomings of my own religion when another is torn apart. For many that new religion is the Government.

That was difficult to listen to, but thank you for posting it.

It sounds hellish, like the Jonestown death tape:

I think there is another name for that.

It's "Ephebophile", or something like that.

why bother posting this? around here most everyone has decided that they don’t deserve to tell their side of the story.. that they are all evil pedophiles and rapists and should burn in hell like the scum they are.. and the children? Well they should all be taken by the state and reassigned to more “acceptable” families.. except this isn’t the truth of the matter..the truth is, these people are human beings, still not charged with or convicted of any crime because there is no evidence, shy of some pregnant teens which you will find on any high school campus.. but really....do facists need a reason to take children away from people they don’t like? I’ve heard it said over and over in these posts “I don’t care if the call was a hoax, I don’t care if they’ve found any evidence, these people are evil and these poor women and children deserve better”.. if the women are victims too then give them their children back.. and if the women aren’t victims then charge them with something.. but neither is happening because its easier to make judgements about something we know nothing about, act as the state sees fit, and damn the torpedos...and the constitution.

Their trolls have been on this forum too, trying to defend polygamy (while not appearing to defend it) and to attack the Eldorado police and FBI for carrying out the raid.

“So I'm waiting for more details knowing there are laws about polygamy and an age of consent but wondering if this is the right way and constitutional way to “enforce” them.”

Well, it's all in motion now. The courts will have there chance to define these issues.

Funny thing, this isn't the first time these folks have drawn controversy, been to court or been sent to prison. BTW: I personally don't believe they're going to get a lot of sympathy here in Texas at least, not from me.

"To me, it seems that they are just another Christian denomination."

LDS doctrine:

"... for I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity, I will refute that idea..." - Joseph Smith, King Follett Discourse

That's a strange notion for a "Christian."

**How many children have to be systematically statutorily raped in a commune**

One.

But systematically implies more than one, so I guess we'd have to go with two.

fincenMIB has quite a few FLDS ‘movies’ posted including family trees. It’s hard to listen to Jeffs - he drones on in that monotone voice that the residents of YFZ use.

To me, it seems that they are just another Christian denomination. I couldn't see anywhere on their site that they were following a "prophet" today, false or otherwise.

Then you didn't read it very well. They follow the FALSE Prophet Joseph Smith. Their current "Prophet" is Stephen M. Veazey.

Admittedly they are, unlike the Utah LDS Church, a marginally Christian group. In other words it is possible to be both a Christian and a member of the RLDS Church.

They don't really preach any of the DAMNABLE Doctrines of Demons that the Utah LDS Church teaches. But nevertheless, they do follow at least some of the teachings of the FALSE PROPHET, Joseph Smith and they believe in the Book of Mormon.

Did you read the post carefully?

We're not talking about LDS doctrine here. We're talking about the RLDS, or Community of Christ.

Do modern members of this denomination (Community of Christ) believe the statements made by Joseph Smith in the King Follett discourse?

I don't know; I will let them speak for themselves. I wasn't able to find anything on their website to that effect.

I can conjecture that they don't follow all the teachings of their founder--just as modern-day LDS do not follow all the words and practices of their former prophets. Maybe that's a good thing.

I see you've discovered Wikipedia.

Why not let the RLDS (Community of Christ) speak for themselves? You referred me to their website, yet you use Wikipedia as your source of information.

Does the RLDS (Community of Christ) still follow the Prophet Joseph Smith? Perhaps someone from that denomination could provide a more authorative answer. I don't think they appreciate the tone of your characterizations of them.

If the RLDS are following a false prophet, why would you say this:

In other words it is possible to be both a Christian and a member of the RLDS Church.

Under what circumstances would you consider one of your Prophets to have been a FALSE Prophet?

Since Brigham Young taught such damnable heresies as the idea the "Adam was God the Father" and that when he created the Earth, "he brought Eve, one of his wives with him," would you consider Brigham Young to have been a False Prophet?

Obviously he didn't know God or understand that nature of God, and yet he claimed to be God's mouthpiece on the Earth.

So why don't you consider him to be a False Prophet?

Well, this is great. On http://fldstruth.org/ we see the direct lineage of FLDS from Joseph Smith and Brigham Young. The reason the apologists are mad as hornets is the FLDS are more Mormon than they are.

You're assuming a lot of things here, P.

Under what circumstances would you consider one of your Prophets to have been a FALSE Prophet?

First of all, I don't own them, nor do they work for me. They are responsible for the words they say as well as their actions. They are accountable to God. I'll leave their condemnation up to Him.

I know of no false popes, false ministers or false rabbis. Although I have heard of (popes, ministers, and rabbis) that do or say things that are perhaps not sanctioned by God (I'll leave that judgement to Him). Just because someone is "called" to be a prophet, priest, pastor, etc. doesn't mean that person is perfect. Look at Jeremiah Wright.

Here's one for you:

Under what conditions would you consider the LDS to be Christian?

Thank you Enosh. Praise be to God that I am free of the penalty of my sin, and free of endless works in effort to obtain favor, through Jesus Christ, my Savior.
