Once you realize humans are not causing global warming and/or climate change, then you need an explanation for how and why so many people appear to think they are. In two previous articles (Environmental Extremism and Historical and philosophical context of the climate change debate.) we examined the philosophical and historical context of climate change and specifically the focus on humans as the cause.
We explained the philosophical concept of uniformitarianism that dominates western science; the incorrect idea that change is gradual over long periods of time. We looked at how the scientific method of testing the theory that human CO2 was causing warming/climate change was effectively bypassed. Now we need to examine how politics took over climate science through exploitation of public fear and lack of knowledge.

I keep hearing that sea level is rising on Discovery Channel and History Channel global warming shows and elsewhere. None of them ever say how much sea level has risen and in what period of time. Unless you can answer that question your hysterical screed should be dismissed as such.
He predicted 15,000 things and a dozen have been quite accurate.
What are you, anyway? A Cayce denier?
Take a chill pill.
you are sounding like Howard Dean.
No, I saw it. I was just hoping I could let that slip down the storm drain and get an answer to a real question. lol
um kay
In case you think I’m a DU plant (another fave fr analysis) I believe the Left, and that means 99% of the Rat party, are literally criminals.
The GOP are a bit behind them in their lust for power over us but they’re getting there. We need radical change.
>>Bush thinks the fraud is real. Newt thinks so. Romney and Huck and Fred and Rudy all think so. Arnold thinks so. McCain is downright ALgorian on the subject. So who in leadership is standing with Inhofe?<<
One of the reasons I am no longer a Republican.
They are either complete and utter morons or they have something up their sleeve. I suspect it is the latter. Where’d I put my tinfoil hat. I’m gonna need it.
>>If Polar caps and Greenland-ice-sheet melt, most of Earth Mass is going to go under water due to 40 foot rise in sea-level.<<
I agree! And if the core of the planet freezes up we are gonna be in a world of hurt too!
And if a meteor hits me in the head on the way home it will pretty much off me.
So? Three big and STATISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE if’s there. None of them deserve a reasonable persons thought process more than a few seconds.
Well then everything is fine and dandy for you! No worries! Good luck!
Yeah, whoever disagrees with you is in it for profit, or is a socialist. LOL!
He said what he said. Whatever money he made he gave it to Charity. Never lived a lavish life. Never made himself out to be anything more than he was. I didn’t understand his reincarnation theories either, not sure even if he did. You have attacked him in vicious manner, but not given a single reason why.
>>The real agenda behind the “global warming” hoax is not a concern for the environment but to use people’s regard for it as a Trojan Horse to expand big government and narrow people’s life choices to those considered acceptable by the elite.<<
Yup. It is about control. And if you control CO2, you control, quite literally, everything.
The point you make is actually what I said earlier - Climate Changes happen as evident by Greenland. However, most here don’t even bother to acknowledge that.
I threw Stephen Hawkings name out there to make the point that not everyone who believes in Climate change is some purple haired moonbat smoking a bong.
Trusting God doesn’t mean you can set the whole planet on fire and believe God will protect you. I said, life will go on even if next Climate Shift occurs, as it has in the past. Only it won’t be painless.
>>You simply have to ask yourself two questions:<<
Baloney. I work in risk assessment and risk management.
You ask three questions and even that is oversimplifying. But it will suffice for here:
1. What is the impact of the thing happening.
2. What is the likelyhood of the thing happening.
3. What is the cost of mitigating the risk of it happening.
Apply these three questions to hardening your home against being struck by a large meteorite. They all point to the same conclusion: you do nothing. Number three is the killer in this case.
Apply the questions to global warming. But let me add a piece: Let’s say the earth suddenly went up in average temperature by ten full degrees and stayed there. How long do you think it would take to fully melt the poles? The answer is SEVERAL THOUSAND YEARS.
And even then, would it be bad? Flooding in florida may be offset by surfing in northern Canada, and Russia FINALLY getting a warm water port. ;)
People know just enough here to be dangerous.
OK, so answer the first one for yourself? What do you think would be the impact of ice caps melting? Lets see your answer.
>>Some say that if you limit amount of CO2 that you release in the year, you can prevent the Polar Caps from melting. Thus the efforts underway to keep the planet the way we know it. Otherwise, there it would just be different and that will be that.<<
I agreed with you up until that part.
Increases in CO2 are caused by global warming like earthquakes are caused by tsunamis.
Are you really Algore?
Wasn’t it Willie Sutton, who, when asked, “Why do you believe in global warming?”, answered, “Because that’s where the money is!”
Are you able to read? It doesn’t say increase in CO2 is caused by Global Warming. It says if we LIMIT the CO2 released in atmosphere, then Global Warming would be either mild or negligible. Its CO2 blanket that prevents the heat from eascaping from the atmosphere. You want some heat to be trapped as we obviously don’t want to freeze, but trapping too much is obviously going to lead to some climate shift.
