"killing three criminals." This new phrase forced upon us by the Iraqi government is a joke
Criminals=Terrorists.

Iranian-trained Special Groups commander and three other suspected criminals Criminals? What's with that? If they have a "commander" would they not be "solders?" Are they wearing some sort of ID or uniform?

Get the waterboard ready for this scumbag.

I wouldn’t say that...I kinda like it. Calling these criminals “terrorists”, gives them an imprimatur they certainly don’t deserve. They were mostly recruited out of prisons, and from the thugs and pickpockets of the slums and streets. They desrtve to have their hand and a foot cut off, by their own laws that they say they enforce on the people for the will of God....”Mujahideen”, my foot!

Not done within the established rules and confines of Governmental Court Law. Legal way of saying murderous bums.

If they have no uniform, no identifying military insignia, even though they “claim” a commander they can be termed under the GHC as illegal combatants. In other words a cage could be reserved for them at Club Gitmo.

"I wouldnt say that...I kinda like it. Calling these criminals terrorists, gives them an imprimatur they certainly dont deserve." Trained by Iran only means one thing.
However if you prefer we could call the mercenary scumbags.

The MSM is gonna ignore your story,...it's just the US Military trying to justify staying in Iraq..../s
That's my prediction....
To: SandRat
Of course. The author is very unclear on the issue.

The rule which has been applied by all in warfare to deal with such people is “death.” People like this should be interrogated and then executed. That was always the case, may it be the war of independence, civil, WWI, WWII, Korea etc. Hang them.
Knowing what queers even our leadership in the Army has become, we will hold them as quests, politically work out some deal, and when the dust settles, without the public ever knowing, hand them over to Iran after some drug deal was worked out. It will be behavior like that which will kill the support of the war even on the right. The right understands the threat and the need to deal with it. They understand that things aren't always pretty but they are a reality of life. What many on the right don't agree with is when wars become political and our guys die while senior political leaders play a chess game in some “graduated escalation” concept. The right doesn't like games being played and frankly their simplistic word view, often mocked and described as over-simplistic, if applied would have ended Muqtar Al Sadr in 2004, a problem we're STILL dealing with because of our pussyfooting around. It's those who worry about the symbolic value of Sadr, the timing of operations so that they are in concert with certain political processes, etc etc etc, who while even maybe in support of the war will cause the base of supporters for the war to peal away. Don't play games- The surge worked. Saddam's death had a net positive effect even if criticized by the liberal media (The fear of his return by the Iraqi's is gone)...... Be benevolent to the innocent victims of war, but ruthless to the enemy. -MHO

The MSM continues with the story as they see it
Ahhh.....They can't see it from the hotel bar in Green Zone, Ernest. They'll get skinny from Armed Forces and Iraqi reporters, edit and edit again to submit to their editors for final editing and political polishing.
