Polls show Clinton holding a stubborn lead over Obama and, if she wins, she will have staved off political death one more time. Yet if Clinton wins by a narrow margin - even after an unusually bad stretch for Obama, including his foolish observation about 'bitter' small-town voters and a horrendous debate on Wednesday - her victory will be underwhelming.
In the next two primaries, on 6 May, she trails badly in one (North Carolina) and has surrendered a one-time lead in another (Indiana). Even some Clintonites say they will pressure her to drop out should she lose both those states. And one of her prominent (unnamed) supporters recently estimated to the Politico newspaper that she only has a 10 per cent chance at the nomination.
For a fleeting moment recently, it did seem that Clinton might stand a chance, when controversy exploded over Obama's incendiary pastor, Jeremiah Wright. But Obama's skilful address on race, coupled with the media frenzy around Clinton's foolish exaggeration of 'sniper fire' in Tuzla, slammed that door.
Democrats such as Dean quite reasonably wonder whether their party has become like a family that spends millions in legal battles over an inheritance, only to find there's nothing left at the end. Though in this case the inheritance lost is nothing less than the presidency.
For as Clinton and Obama peck away at one another over honesty, patriotism and race and the like, John McCain is quietly resting, raising money, staging gauzy 'biography' events and laying out campaign positions to little criticism from a distracted left. And the Republicans are laying the groundwork for the same cynical but deadly brand of politics that has kept them in the White House for eight years.

But honestly looking throughout the whole country do you see any signs of someone truly worthy , uncompromising and electable? Someone who speaks their own thoughts , even if someone else puts them to words? Anyone with ideas?
The last President who believed something and stuck to it was Reagan. Everyone else was "Read my Lips, Read my Hips, build my Pyramid/Library"
I'll tell ya, keeping my publicly schooled kids from fagging-off
and trying to save the planet is brutal. I'll tell you what.

The home-school Nazi’s like n00bie nicola_tesla are not worth your time.
Reading their posts it is clear that they could not cut it in society and are raising kids that cannot either.
About the only thing that they are good at is pinging support as they cannot debate a normal person by themselves. I have destroyed them on other threads and they don’t have the brains to know it.

My public-school educated dumb-ass 3.94, top 8% in her class accepted at EVERY collage she applied to daughter who has a letter on her jacket for Senior Varsity track, volleyball and basketball would agree.

Oh my gosh! My junior daughter (and the soph too) have so much in common with your daughter (well, the not shooting part yet but that will come in time). The Volleyball caught my attention. Did she play club, too? Just asking because my junior played in the championships in SLC in June/July 2005. Just wondering if they played against each other. She and the soph play for the high school team, too (letters) and that team made it to the State championships this year but lost in the semi finals. Undefeated all season and lost. A senior on the team got a full ride to both Loyola and Georgetown and she chose Loyola.
And both are honor students, too. Is my pride showing? ;) They’re also way more conservative than I was as a teen, lol.
