Techno,
The two side-by-side maps are VERY illuminating. Scary, too. NC has a lot of TB because we give away driver's licenses like condoms in a high school.
I'm going to bookmark your post for future reference. Thanks.

(From now on, ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put.)

When was the last time you had a TB test?
I got biannual TB tests for 20 years after working closely with primates. Think I'll start that up again.

To clarify your post about testing, demontrtating exposure via testing does not necessarily indicate that the person is infected, a carrier or contagious. Rather it indicated the need for further testing.

I should add, please do use the information posted on this topic to make a decision. Please see your doctor for information.

TB is airborne, not foodborne.
Yes, that's so. But all immigrants and food workers here are required to have the TB tine test prior to employment. There is a connection.

TB sometimes takes years to become active in a person....we will probably get creamed down the road.

I'm way behind in the tests. Interesting catching up.
Years back I'd read of the raised potential for the spread of the TB infection in homeless sanctuaries. Spending a night wouldn't do it...but many nights in closed quarters raised the risk. This brings us to food workers in confined kitchen areas with higher temperatures and humidity, conditions that are more friendly to bacteria in the air.
Environment, time of exposure and of course, the backgrounds of the employees are factors.

And of course the US government and corporate America would never lie about test results, polls, performance, costs, the truth, would they?? /sarc
