LEXINGTON, Ky. - An eighth-grader in Kentucky is accused of putting peanut butter cookie crumbs in the lunchbox of a classmate with a severe peanut allergy...

it’ll be explained later that the kid has republican parents.
I agree...this is one sick kid..an eight grader. Can’t wait for the “parents “ of this sicko to explain his upbringing.
Must be a really nice family...not.
Back in my day, no one every heard of peanut allergies. The government gave schools peanut butter by the barrel and it was on our lunch plates every day - cookies, sandwich, with honey for a biscuit, or just a big spoonful. What has changed so in the human body that this has become such a problem?

Peanut allergy was unheard of in my day, too. So one of two things has happened: either the human body has altered (unlikely) or somebody like Monsanto has been fooling around with peanuts...
“What has changed so in the human body that this has become such a problem?”
One theory is lifestyle. When we were growing up we were out in the dirt exposed to all sorts of stuff that we naturally built up an immunity towards. Now, children are carefully protected from all that stuff and don’t have the immunities.
A more likely explanation is the one that no one will discuss — altered diets. More and more mothers are trying to remain unpregnant looking and in triathlon condition throughout pregnancy. Thus they are eating less meat, much more soy and peanut butter, some even trying to stick to a vegetarian diet.
It is far more likely that this altered diet while pregnancy is throwing off the immune systems of those they are giving birth to rather than the use of Purell once the child is playing with shared toys.
It could be that allergic kids died early so they weren't around for you to notice them.
Personally I think it's caused by a shortage of meatloaf in the American diet. That or in the old days all the kids with peanut allergies were wiped out riding bikes without their helmets.
it was on our lunch plates every day - cookies, sandwich, with honey for a biscuit, or just a big spoonful.
And let's not forget those yummy peanut butter celery sticks.
LOL, so its OK for this kid to try to kill his classmate, because the allergy problem is overblown in your mind?
Little son of a bitch. I think a good butt whipping with a switch would correct this situation.
I would assume back in the day when we were kids some of these children with severe food allergies did not survive childhood.
Now with parents being more aware of CPR and lifesaving techniques, as well as the effects of severe allergic reaction, they are more able to recognize anaphylactic shock and seek IMMEDIATE medical attention. There wasn’t even “911” when we were kids.
I’m not sure the condition is any more prevalent, probably just more people surviving with it.
I know a couple of dozen strict vegetarians and a few vegans. Every single one of them are some of the most unhealthy people I know. They are constantly sick in the winter and each and every one appears gaunt and pale every time you see them. The ones we hike with can't keep up, either. They seem to seriously lack energy for the long haul. (two of them are RN's, too. You'd think they would know about proper nutrition)......
Or their deaths were attributed to some other reason. When these kids go into to Anaphylaxis shock it could kill them and this punk knew enough about what could happen to plan this.
I saw this girl on TV this morning. When she is exposed, her organs swell. Very serious stuff.
Jimmy Carter started selling his nuts.
I think what has changed is the use of soy formula for kids with plain ole colic that the parents and pediatricians think have “allergies”. Soy is very allergenic and I think exposure to soy causes late peanut allergy.
Plus the new thing is not to give kids food for a year or at least six or seven months. We gave our babies food at three weeks and not an allergy among them.
One theory I've seen is is "soy formula" - that the soybean plant's relation to peanuts is sensitizing infants who are given soy formula, or any of the other zillion products containing soybeans.
