Strasbourg, Apr. 18, 2008 (CWNews.com) - The parliament of the Council of Europe has approved a non-binding resolution calling for all European nations to legalize abortion.
By a vote of 102- 69, the parliament passed a resolution affirming the "right to choose." Proponents of the measure argued that legal bans do not prevent abortion but merely drive the practice underground (an argument that American proponents of legal abortion have confessed they put forward without evidence). Gisela Wurm, the Austrian lawmaker who sponsored the resolution, said that laws against abortion are a form of violence against women.
Representatives of Ireland and Malta-- the European Union countries that maintain legal bars on abortion-- objected vigorously to the resolution.
pings to your pro-life lists
What Hitler couldn’t do to them they are going to do to themselves. What a pitiful bunch.
{Gisela Wurm, the Austrian lawmaker who sponsored the resolution, said that laws against abortion are a form of violence against women.}
Nice to see Europeans use American talking points for abortion. Several American Medical Socities have called parental notification of abortion for teens to be a form of child abuse.
Pray for the Irish and those living in Malta. They are in the midst of a great spiritual battle, as are we.
Dutch council member Kyl der Chilluns pushed the resolution, saying, "Europe's population is not shrinking fast enough. We have to make room for our Islamic overlords and to do that, we need to hasten the death spiral." The council sub-committee on the elderly, headed by Greek parliamentarian E. U. Thanasia called the measure "of utmost importance" and added, "We must see this through, along with our program of exterminating the elderly...I mean...uh...convincing those in the final phases of life to die with dignity."
It is ironic that these people call notifying parents (who have more rights as adults) of THEIR CHILD’s (children have less rights than adults, legally) upcoming abortion.
Ironic they won’t tell the adult who is responsible for that minor child, what the minor child is doing.
by all means, let’s not kill terrorists in the EU but those unwanted babies have got to go!
Europe is committing suicide.
Isn't the exact same thing true for all crimes?
Europe is heading straight into a demographic abyss. Not to mention a moral one.
Wasn’t Roe vs Wade binding on all the states back in the 70s? Has the US committed suicide yet?
Yeppers...with the birth rate in Europe below replacement now, it’s certainly time to kill off the few babies being conceived. Of course, the Muslims won’t be affected, and this will only hasten the coming of Eurabia.
“Wasnt Roe vs Wade binding on all the states back in the 70s? Has the US committed suicide yet?”
Roe v. Wade in 1973 eliminated states rights on the abortion issue. Prior to Roe v. Wade the legality of abortion was left up to the individual states (thus, abortion was legal in some states, but not in others).
