Why, does he seem depressed? ;-)
I thought we killed them all? Guess we missed a few...
Nice shot! I’m still mystified, but this is a pretty cool phenomenon. Sort of like the lion and the lamb lying down together in the Bible.
Yes...isn’t it wonderful?
That photoshop where is Looter guy
A few years ago, he developed a fungus in his hair (polar bear hairs are hollow to help with insulating them when they are out and about), so the zoo's vet treated him with an anti-fungal medication.
Unfortunately, it turned him this brilliant shade of purple for about six weeks.
wow!
Here I sit in Maine, snow from the roof still blocking our steps, and the black bear already came and left. And you talk about KC-135’s. World is small. First flew in one of our KC-135’s in 1965 or so, stopped in Maine for first time at Loring. 494th Bomb Wing (H), SAFB Texas.
“Hold my bear and watch this!”
That's a great line, but a poster called OeOeO beat you to it in #50.
Hey Man! You drank my Bear,Man! I thought I could trust you to hold it. =)
Now where's that Eskimo woman I have to wrestle?
'Trying to find a video clip my son took of my son-in-law doing fly-bys in the P-3 at our little local airport one early evening. Great peace of film - I think you'd both enjoy...
The police chief almost had a heart attack, He came screeching up to the airport just as my son-in-law was making his final pass -
The chief jumps out his cruiser, all a fluster: "Doesn't he know he can't land here! The runway's too short! Oh my..."
Without thinking, I just said: "It's okay. It's just Billy."
This threw him into complete confusion.
I told you once...
P-3's huh? Must be near Brunswick. I had a couple of P-3 drivers working for me at the Pentagon years ago. They are amazing, truly superior.
Polar bears shouldn't drink n drive.
yep - flew outta Brunswick over my house on route to Bangor - (Then he was ‘on loan’ to the RCAF in Nova Scotia for 3 years, as instructor - now stationed in Corpus as instructor in the VT-35
I was born and raised on a deep forest farm ‘somewhat north of Bangor’ going towards Topsfield - have friends who just moved up the road a piece from our old place, to Sherman Falls.
I keep a watch on the temps/weather there, in my childhood place and here ‘between Brunswick and Bangor’ and find that up north, it’s colder in winter...but a few degrees warmer come spring and summer up there! I guess because it’s further inland?
The little town I live in now, (one store, one-man post office) just moved the town clerks office out of her home into a real office in the fire dept bldg. That’s means we’re getting too citified for me. I’d like to pick up and go back up “Home” - per my column this week: excerpt:
“Ive always espoused to keeping things from the past that work, mixing them with the new. For example, I could go back to living up on .... Ridge much like we did with my grandparents in the 30s and 40s. I could be happy with my wood stove for heat, even with my kerosene lamps much of the time. I wouldnt miss the TV. But Id want my indoor bathroom with tub and running hot water - and my computer.”
YAh. I just noticed it when after I posted. GMTA. :P
SOrry bud, I couldn’t resist. It wasn’t one of those light bear that taste like water and urine combined. So the temptation was too much. :)
