For too many years now, socialist whiners masquerading as your granddaddys Democrats have been maligning our troops in battle in what I will call a traitorous fashion, all the while screaming at the top of their lungs, but, we support our troops!
(snip)
As a result, 17 true modern American heroes have returned from duty in Iraq only to take their fight for Americas future to the halls of congress.
(snip)
But what positive action are they [conservatives] taking to insure that America moves in the right direction this fall, instead of allowing the worst candidates in American history to win by default?
Conservatives have begged for someone or something positive to support, and heres their chance to put their money and their time where their mouth has been for so long!

Troop Surge in Congress? (FINALLY!) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2002803/posts?page=51
But noticably missing on that thread are those I see here often, those "self-styled" conservatives with nothing good to say and nothing good to do about anything. Those who think they can advance a conservative agenda by sitting on their hands and allowing Clinton-Obama to become Commander-in-Chief... just to "get even" with McCain and RINOs running the RNC.
Today, I post the latest from JB Williams, which appropriately lays it on the line. If conservatives fail to unite behind these patriots seeking conservative change in congress, then they prove themselves nothing more than impotent blowhards...
If conservatives fail to unite behind this effort, then they deserve whatever they get this fall!
GREAT FR support here...

A coalition of 16 Iraq War Veterans have united to support each other for a run at Capitol Hill. In a press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. last week, timed to coincide with the arrival of Gen. David Petreus and Ambassador Ryan Crocker to Capitol Hill, six members of Iraq Veterans for Congress, IVC, outlined their frustration over the lack of representation in Congress of the new generation of veterans. But, where are the typical “we already lost” FR conservatives?
“But, where are the typical we already lost FR conservatives?”
Let me try, let me try...!
‘Yeah, but when John Mc-insert silly name here to make me look like a stupid, name-calling 15-year-old - gets into office, it won’t matter since he is a democrat anyway’
How’s that? I give it a B- (needs work).
I watched for certain FReeper’s to jump in, since they claim to be dying for a chance to make a conservative affront on the RNC and congress. They were nowhere to be found (in the comments anyway.)
With 3600 readers, maybe they clicked in and clicked out without leaving a comment???
It's been my general experience that conservatives can be the champions of cheap talk. If they were as action oriented as their socialist opponents, their socialist opponents would be out of business by now!
So frustrating!
Just be sure you are not supporting another “John Kerry” vet.
Let’s all support Code Pink — if they shoot their leaders.
I certainly agree that if we can’t do anything else, we can support solid candidates for congress in the coming election.
I’ve donated what I can to several strong candidates in other states, since there’s really no one running in Vermont who is worth supporting.
More than ever, it is foolish to give a dime to the RNC. Send it where it may do some good. Chris Smith, for instance, or Michelle Bachman. I don’t mean those two in particular, but people like them who are solid and who have at least some chance of winning.
I firmly believe that with McCain’s victory this November, we will also re claim the Senate and House on his coat tails.
I read your post yesterday with interest. I’m going to look for one of these guys and give some cash to him. I believe we (Californians) have a vet in a San Diego district running.
We’ve got to get folks into Congress who have some military common sense and know the (good and bad) realities in both theaters of war.
Good work!
“supporting the troops without supporting their mission is like supporting artists but hating art” - camle
None of these men are “John Kerry” or “Jack Murtha.”
If they were, you wouldn’t catch me supporting them...
I don’t know if John even has a coat, much less coat tails. But I sure do like your optimisim!
There’s a plan I can get behind!
Thanks!
Bushbots are no better in many cases. When the Walter Reed scandal came about, instead of actually caring that the wounded received decent care, they shreiked about how it was affecting Bush’s poll numbers. Bluntly their interest in the troops extended only so far as it enhanced Bush’s standings.
There are no “Bushbots.”
Only those who still remember that our choices were Bush or Gore, Bush or Kerry.
Only those who remember all the good (and bad) things Bush has done, instead of just the bad.
I’m not sure any US President has ever cared more about the troops. Bush’s enitre presidentcy has been held together by the troops.
But I sure know who hates our troops.... and it isn’t Bush.
