The war in Iraq has become "a major debacle" and the outcome "is in doubt" despite improvements in security from the buildup in U.S. forces, according to a highly critical study published Thursday by the Pentagon's premier military educational institute.
“Joseph Collins (Sycophant Democratic Holdover from the Clinton I Adm.) “
Where do you get that from? Collins bio on the paper in question says he is a retired US Army colonel, and that he has been a professor at the War College since 2004. Clinton was still giving out jobs in 2004?

Well, since Collins was recently the deputy assistant secretary of defense for stability operations, I guess he’d know if he eff’d it up or not.
Collins retired in ‘98. Perhaps our poster is familiar with something that we’re not.
His boss at the Pentagon was Douglas Feith.
So? Powell’s and Tenet’s boss was Bush. What does this tell us?
Agreed.
“never believe any war will be smooth and easy”
Try telling that to the Israels in the “100 hour war” of 1967.
Most wars are lousy and costly but once in a while, the good guys win one with, thankfully, small losses.
Oh, didn’t we do that in 1991 in Kuwait?
Clinton-holderovers are as much a threat to the US as is Al Qaeda.
“Had this report said that the surge was working and the U.S.A. was winning, the media would have treated it as though it didnt even exist.”
They *are* treating it as though it didn’t even exist:
“Uh huh. A McClatchy spin on a report written last fall. Ill pass, thanks.”
Nope... released April 2008:

Precisely. And when you pointed that out, all "The_Republican" could do in defense was direct you to "click and go read the whole article". Well, I clicked and read the whole article but saw nothing but a McClatchy spin on an old report, and none of those bolds, font enlargements, and red-colored highlights that "The_Republican" saw fit to add for emphasis.
Like you said Mr. Silverback, the "edits tell the tale".
Thanks for the link!
Your snarky comment was content free. That seems telling to me. Am I wrong?
This is a Fu*king pathetic Wesley Clark piece of crap Clintonista report.
This sounds like another A-hole cheerleader for failure emerging to be a hero of the left.
Just like the drive by media to produce junk to satisfy useful idiots that love appeasing radical Islam.
How about if Dr. Joseph Collins rephrase the stupid statment to be more accurate and report that Syria and Iran are terrorizing its neighbor Iraq so it could never have peace.
Why doesn't he talk to his friends at NDU about the ignorance of the Iraq Study Group, Senate Select Intelligence Committee and 911 Commissions incompetence to connect the dots between Saddam and Al Qaeda.
This is Junk.
The media needs to stop giving our troops bad gloomy one sided news when they happen to be fighting a noble war.
Written last fall. Check the link.
I see you just joined us for this very thread. Welcome to FR.
See post 9 for why this report isn't worth the paper it was written on. It's latrine grade.
Paranoia tells even more tales. Hahahahaahahaha! Pulling an ostritch move and burying your head in the sand never ever helped any cause.
Thanks, sir.
