CHUCK BALDWIN: ONLY A MIRACLE CAN SAVE AMERICA NOW
Constitution Party ^ | 15Apr08 | CHUCK BALDWIN

Posted on 04/17/2008 7:44:24 PM PDT by claudiustg

Every four years, conservative "pragmatists" trot out the "We Can’t Let So-And-So Win" mantra. Of course, the so-and-so in question is always the Democratic Presidential candidate. For all of my adult life, I have been listening to so-called "conservative" Republicans warn us of the impending doom that would befall our country if the Democratic candidate were elected. And this year is no different.

This year’s Republican primary did provide a wonderful aberration, however, to the usual choices between Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Republicans had an opportunity to nominate a real American constitutionalist, a statesman in the similitude of Thomas Jefferson or James Madison. That man was Texas Congressman, Ron Paul. Unfortunately, the Republican faithful seem to be incapable of discerning the marks of true greatness, not to mention fidelity to constitutional government. It is doubtful that most of them even understand what constitutional government is. And as for Christian conservatives, they can barely see any issues beyond abortion and "gay rights." To try and convince them to support a constitutionalist candidate is like talking to a brick wall.

So, what choice does the Republican Party offer the American people this year? The worst of all possible choices: good old John "McSame" McCain.

Let’s be clear: a John McCain Presidency will be no better than a Hillary Clinton or a Barack Obama Presidency. In fact, in many ways, a McCain White House will be WORSE than a Democratic one.

The first time, we had a few thousand heroes. Now we need a miracle.

... Voting for some perfect ideal-for-you-only 1% candidate and thereby letting Obama DESTROY AMERICA AS WE KNOW IT because you didn’t stop him when you had a chance ... *THAT* is a wasted vote!!!

I find it funny that the majority of Freepers consider Ron Paul a nut or crazy. The guy has had the best approach to our current economic situation than ANYBODY else. He has the best American values than any other candidate out there. But you are still willing to pinch your nose and vote for McCain who will sell out the American people in a heart beat.

We, as a country, have not been living the American dream to the true sense of the meaning for a long time. We have been fighting tooth and nail against the erosion of it. I don't think thats what the Founding Father's had planned.

Go ahead, vote for McCain because he's not as vehement against the 2nd Amendment as the other two socialists. Vote for him because he's strong on "terror". Vote for him because he's got an R next to his name. Vote for him because you think next time around will be better. This country will be just like the Roman Empire. We spread our assets to far and too thin across the world and it will all come crumbling down because the American people have become fat and lazy and have no concept of self-preservation. We deserve the government we get.

Flame on...

Just as we never gave an amnesty bill for pro-amnesty Bush to sign, we'll never let Congress pass a bill for McCain to sign - even McCain said secure the border first and fix enforcement ...

McCain said...:^) How are you going to stop the Congress. McCain has got zero coattails. The Dims are likely to win substantial majorities.

A decent third party candidate gives me someone for whom to vote rather than writing in a name. It does not change the fact that I will not vote for John McCain. Who knows? Perhaps a good third party candidate might help salvage some of the down-ticket Conservatives.

In 1976 I was so turned off my the machinations of the Republican party that I voted for James Earle Carter, biggest regret of my life. I wish I could tell you what I know about his Presidency, but I had a Top Secret Clearance then and for many years afterward and cannot. Just let me say that Carter was and is evil without realizing it, the poor sod.

Men (and women, too) do what they feel are correct and honorable acts only later to realize that the horrible results which, if they’d only thought ahead a bit and did some historical reserch, could have been prevented.

There is nothing new here, Cladius. This has, in one form or another happened before. What I am aiming for is to keep the War on Terror on track, a thing the Democrats want to derail and which I know McCain will sustain, and keep working my butt off locally and State-wide for the GOP to support REAL grass-roots Conservatism. My tagline, sweetie, says it all.

And no, I will not scream at you.

What can I say? I feel his pain? Now what? Vote for a loser which will deliver another hard core socialist (including 2-4 socialist SCOTUS justices)? Haven’t we been there before?

"That man was Texas Congressman, Ron Paul."

At that point I experienced an exquisite blend of amusement and nausea.

The guy has had the best approach to our current economic situation than ANYBODY else.

This guy who doesn't know the difference between the US Treasury, Federal Reserve, and US Mint? This guy who says that 'Austrian Economics' will prevent inflation, recessions and depressions, yet the Mises/Hayek Business model theory (foundation of Austrian economic theory) states specifically that inflation, deflation, recessions, and depressions will not only happen, they are required regular 'correcting' events in Austrian Economic theory and should be allowed to happen. This man, of whom has never passed a single bill to do anything he claims to stand for, and of whom, Phil Gramm said his bills were so poorly worded and lacked any detail on the 'HOW' to implement the theories he espoused, the couldn't even make it out of committee. This man whom Buckley said was 'all theory no teeth' (ie no substance behind his words.) This man who said Ronald Reagan made Jimmy Carter look conservative.....

No need to 'flame' on.. just look at his actual record, like we do every other candidate.. no reason to treat him with kid gloves.

Thank you, Thank you for this true statement. Many won't believe it.

Probably because like all good conspiracies, there is not a shred of proof to prove that it is true.

Actually, you are right. There isn't proof that Perot worked for Clinton. According to “Citizen Perot: His Life and Times”, by Gerald Posner, Perot admitted his motivation was hatred of George HW Bush over the POW/MIA issue. So he wasn't really working for Clinton, he was just working against Bush.

Prove what? That Perot is corrupt? You’ve got to be kidding!
Of course he was on the take! Who do you think did billions of dollars worth of check processing during the Clinton Administration. Perot was nothing but a whore.

Excellent.

Describe his approach - the specific policies he would implement, his methodology for implementing them and their anticipated effect.

Enlighten us with details.

And please, no cutting and pasting of propaganda and rhetoric from other sites.

Walk us through Ron Paul's economic program as you understand it, in your own words.

I thank you in advance.

Perot was willing to help Clinton become president because he hated GHWB?

Lord have mercy, what kind of man would do such a thing?

Hatred and greed.
