The last Democratic debate has finally concluded, and perhaps the last chances of ending the primaries early. Thanks to a surprisingly tenacious set of questions for Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton from ABC moderaters Charles Gibson and George Stephanopolous, Barack Obama got exposed over and over again as an empty suit, while Hillary cleaned his clock. However, the big winner didnt even take the stage tonight.
The first 45 minutes of the scheduled 90-minute debate (which went 15 minutes over) wound up focusing on the series of gaffes and stumbles from both candidates. Hillary more or less defused the Tuzla Dash by admitting she essentially lied about it, trying at one point to use the sleep deprivation defense. Obama, however, never did figure out the First Rule of Holes. Once again, he described religion as a refuge people use when government doesnt work a fatal misreading of religious faith in America. He not only came up with bad answers, he looked lost and tentative throughout the entire period.
Hillary didnt let him off the hook, either, not when it came to Crackerquiddick or on the Wright Stuff. Noting that you choose your pastor, not your family, Hillary once again pounded Obama for not doing anything about Wright when he had the chance. She also jumped at the chance to note that former Weather Underground terrorist William Ayers was more than just a neighbor, as Obama described him. Hillary pointed out that Obama and Ayers worked on a foundation together for years, even after 9/11, even after Ayers said publicly that he didnt regret his terrorism.

I thought the debate was great, but democrats around here where I live in PA don’t care what Obama or Hillary say. They love them anyway...
I was very much heartened by last night’s debate. Obama is unstoppable. He can’t lose the nomination. The Annointed Queen is toast. McCain is going to go up against the stupidest leftist since Mike Dukakis. McCain is one lucky SOB.
Seems the more he talks the more he changes, into a politician like all the rest.
The penguins were in the process of winning the first round of the playoffs in 4 last night. NOBODY west of Harrisburg watched this debate. Did the Flyers play?
Would he really try to use religion as the explanation for the Revolution?
I didn’t watch it. The article is not surprising. I think McCAin and a good VP candidate will clean either one’s clock. I mean can you picture Obama trying to get votes from the Nascar crowd?
Unfortunately, both comments are true.
I love the writings of Eric Hoffer. I wish someone had video of his interviews with ERic Severied...Surely someone hasthem...
These people are blind fanatics. They jumped on Obama’s wagon early. Only, it’s clear that he is NOT his own man...He caters to many special interests esp thosewith the black ideology....
Don't know, but I watched the Phillies lose.
A match made in hell...
Who would be on top?
ME! me! ME! me!
Would YOU want to stand between Hillary and the Oval Office?
I'd sooner stand in front of Michael Moore in the Dunkin' Donuts line...
Here in North Carolina. The Democratic Gov and party leaders want another debate and Obama won’t debate again.
Hillary has agreed to a debate in North Carolina in the next couple of weeks.
So far, she's the only participant, though.
Koolaid does that to you.
Stephanie LaCapra listening to Obama at Penn State on March 30...
An article I just read elsewhere, slammed the monitors and called the debate superficial in that old news questions were reiterated and was preoccupied with non-issues. It also said that Evit took him apart.
